Does Cyber-security task force recommendations for Medical Device Security forces HHS into Action?

The House Committee on Energy and Commerce has pleaded with the HHS to move forward on all recommendations for medical device security proposed by the Healthcare Cybersecurity Task Force, seeking quick action to be taken to address existing dangers.
The Cybersecurity Act of 2015 obligated Congress to put together the Healthcare Cybersecurity Task Force to help identify and tackle the unique challenges faced by the healthcare sector when safeguarding data and protecting from cyberattacks.
While healthcare groups are increasing their investment in technologies to avoid cyberattacks, medical devices remain a significant weak point and could easily be targeted by cybercriminals to gain access to healthcare networks and private information.
The existence of insecure or outdated protocols and operating systems within medical technologies is a reality of modern medicine. At the same time, however, this leaves healthcare organizations vulnerable to increasingly sophisticated and rapidly evolving cyber threats," commented Walden.
Walden stated that the Cybersecurity Task Force Recommendations for Medical Device Security has asked for a Bill of Materials as a possible solution to the problem. The Bill of Materials would be applicable to all medical technologies, which list all the components, software, hardware and protocols used, and any known danger associated with those components. Such a Bill of Materials would make it much simpler for healthcare groups to make security decisions, and mitigate risk when new weaknesses are discoverd.
Having a Bill of Materials for all technologies would not completely safeguard the healthcare sector, but Walden explains it is a "common sense step" to improving cybersecurity in the entire industry.
The HHS has been asked to initiate a sector-wide effort to formulate a plan for the creation and deployment of BOMs. Walden pleaded for a plan to be provided by the HHS before December 15, 2017.

What is the reason for the reset button keep poping out on the dean sm35gm

Hi there!
Reset button of hi-limit switch will only pop-out when its sensing bulb sensed temperature higher tha 450F (trip temperature of hi-limit). Theramostat may be bad allowing oil to reach temp above 450F causing hi-limit to trip-off or hi-limit itself is bad tripping-off at temperature lower than 450F.
Check also the position of the sensing bulb of the hi-limit, it may be positioned touching the heat tube (for gas fryer) or heating element (for electric fryer) that's why it prematurely trips-off.
Regards.

FAILURE CODES

LED Status Fault Description
Off
No Power to the System Control

Steady Flash (11 or more flashes with no pause)
Normal Operation (Standby or call for heat)

2 Flashes
Pressure Switch Closed When It Should Be Open

3 Flashes
Pressure Switch Stuck Open 30 Seconds or Longer After Call for Heat (System in 5-minute delay mode before next call for heat). On/off switch in "off" position during a call for heat will generate this code.

Flame Sense Signal Sensed Out of Proper Sequence

6 Flashes - pause - 1 Flash (see Note 1)*
Soft Lockout Type 1 (Failure to light within 4 trials for ignition)

6 Flashes - pause - 2 Flashes (see Notes 1 & 2)*
Soft Lockout Type 2 (Flame sense lost during run)

6 Flashes - pause - 3 Flashes (see Notes 1 & 2)*

Booster Motor Stayes on after end of heating cycle

Check the following: Flame sensor, this is a lil probe somewhere next to your ignitor. It senses flame and will cause the inducer/booster fan to keep running. Check continuity between your limits on the exchangers, and the main auxilary limit, if a broken circuit then it will also cause the unit to act eratically. If those check out, try your pressure switch, when the heating cycle begins ensure your getting 24 volts in one leg and out the other.

Reddy heater R55tb

what is pictured is a propane heater. two problem areas come to mind. one) the hi limit cutout, and two) the flame sensor. the hi limit is a normally closed device that is bolted to the back plate of the fire chamber. its two wires go to the cappilary of the flame sensor. the flame sensor is of the j-k thermocouple. it generates a millivolt signal to keep the pilot valve open. the flame sensor generates a dc output to the tiny electromagnet inside the main valve. when you start the unit, a hot surface igniter heats up, the main valve opens, a signal is generated to keep the valve open. if it doesn't sense a flame it shuts down and goes into lockout. change the flame sense unit first. what you can also do is temporarily put a jumper wire on the two terminals on the cappillary of the flame sensor.

Tv switching off

This particular unit has a built-in diagnostic. The LED in front will blink for a set number of times following the failure. The blink code is:

1 Flash Power+140
2 Flashes Low B+ D.C
4 Flashes Hi Voltage Hhs
5 Flashes Ic4511
6 Flashes Ic4518
8 Flashes Audio Amp

Can you possible tell how many flashes there are following the instant shutdown?
