I tried to renew my Webroot AntiVirus with Anti-spyware. I ran into a compatibility issue with vista. I uninstalled both the firewall and antivirus, thinking this will help, and now I can not install...

HI There,

I recommend that you use Sytem Restore to go back to a point before the problem began.

1. Click the Start Button
2. Select All Programs> Accessories> System Tools and click on System Restore.
3. Select a point before you tried to install/renew your antivirus and restore to that point.

Your description of what you were trying to do was not completely clear to me so I have to guess. If you were trying to install a different product than Webroot, then you need to completely uninstall Webroot BEFORE you install a different anti-virus.

Also, after uninstalling Webroot, hold down the Windows key on the keyboard and press the R key. A run window will appear. Type in %temp% and hit enter. When the Temp File window appears hold down the ctrl key and hit the A key. All temp files should now be highlighted. Hit the delete key. A message may appear saying Windows cannot delete a file because it's in use. This is normal. Check the box in that window for Skip All similar files and hit ok.

Reboot your computer and then install the new Antivirus.

Good Luck

My webroot spy Sweeper is from on my computer what do I do . I tried to uninstall could not.

If you are using OS XP and above.. use the "Restore Utility" function to restore your system to the point before you install the software.

or

You can use a commercial uninstaller ie Final Uninstaller, Perfect Uninstaller, etc.. to uninstall the program.

Webroot won't run, after restoring pc to orginal config!

I believe you'll still need a product key in order to use webroot. And since you have an active account it's probably a good idea sticking with that so you don't end up with a pirated copy.

You can find your account / password info etc. here:

I received the disk today and when I tried to install it , It said this was an older disk than the one I have installed.

If you are trying to over write your existing spy sweeper with an older version... it will recognize that and bounce you out..you can get online support from webroot for this by contacting them directly at www.webroot.com/support
