SOURCE: hotpoint washer dryer lights flashing

Check first the thermal fuse.

Test heating element to ensure is not grounded, and staying always on. Test the fan and ventilation system.

If you find no fault in there , then test the timer control board.

Enter the model number on one of two websites below to get parts and diagrams for your appliance:

Hello I've got a Hotpoint WML520 washing machine. I've changed the door electrical switch a few times due to it keep melting. Does anyone any ideas why it keeps happening? Thanks.

They melt due to high resistance across the solenoid and contacts. My only thought it that they were not genuine OEM replacements and were copies on eBay or Amazon and sourced in China. also follow the wires back to the control board and clean the contacts there.

I can only find one other incidence of a door lock melting and it is here on Fixya.

My hotpoint aquarius will not spin

If the inlet cycle proceeds and then activated the wash after the water level is detected then the program cycle is intact. However if the second spin does not start, you need to check if there is voltage to the motor at this time , if not the control panel memory to the processor can be corrupt or the IC damaged.

Wml520 programme panel is flashing

Remove power for some time, open the panel and check the connectors and contacts. When the power is switched on , press down the start/stop button. If the fault does not clear the suspect can be the controller board.

Machine stopped mid cycle and green light flashing under green start button

Many modern washing machines display error codes if they detect a fault, but not all washing machines display a readable error code, some indicate an error by flashing, or lighting some of the lights.

Hotpoint, Indesit, Zanussi error codes

Hotpoint, Indesit washing machines and Zanussi washing machines are some common appliances that display coded error codes. On their more expensive models, they display readable error codes but basic models (without digital displays) use flashing lights to convey the error fault code.

If your washing machine malfunctions and you can see some of the lights flashing, or one or more option lights have lit up, then make a note of which lights are flashing and which option lights are lit. NOTE: the error code list engineers have only shows the option lights by number and not by name. Therefore you need to report the lights as LED 1 and 3, or 2 and 4 etc. and NOT "delay timer" and "extra rinse". Count the lights from the left (or from the top if in a column) and report as "led 1 and 3" etc.

No Option lights?

With basic washing machines that have no option indicator lights, count the number of flashes. For example, the door locked indicator may flash 7 times, pause, and flash another 7 times in a constant cycle which would indicate error code 7.

This information is vital, and needs mentioning when reporting a fault.
