There are number of things that can be bad and what's more there are number of very different Sanyo DP50749 models which have rather different internals and different known issues.

What you need to find out first is the chassis of the TV, which is going to be on the back label, something like P50749-00 for example, and supply that too.

Of course bear in mind it may as well be a bad sustain board, for example - that's another popular issue for DP50749.

Less commonly, but the power board may be bad too.

tried to disconnect other connector cable that have been hooked in the component input of your tv which may cause of video interference. if still the same problem, at this time you will need to remove the back cover of the tv and then tried to re seat connector going to buffer and main board might have loose connection. but make sure you have to turn off and unplug the tv before you do this good luck.

Change input device to some other like a DVD player and see. Check for loose contacts in power outlet, RC cable, jack and socket.

If the line is "vertical" then the vertical circuit sounds OK. The problem would be in the horizontal deflection.

Check yoke connection and solder around horz defl circuit.

If the line is horizontal then I would suspect the vertical IC.
