If the version is app specific, then you can only use it with that version. Otherwise, it should be backwards compatible.

Press up and down volume buttons at the same time and the options should show up.

This may or may not be the case with your tablet I would check there first. Otherwise I believe it requires some disassembly to access the battery.

Either the power cord, battery, or motherboard is dead.

Bring it to where you bought it and test it with a new power cord. If that doesn't fix the problem then have them fix it.

Mine does that to but all I ever do it just hit the reset button on the back and it turns back on.
