Hello jose08042008,

Your sub has dual 2ohm voice coils and can be wired to present a final load to the amplifier of either 1ohm or 4ohms. Unless you have an amp that is stable at 1ohm (not many are), then you will want to use the 4ohm wiring. To wire for 4ohms, jumper the positive terminal of one voice coil to the negative of the other terminal, and connect the remaining positive and negative terminals to your amp. If you know for SURE that your amp is stable at 1ohm, you can connect both positives and both negatives together on the sub and then to the amp. But if the amp 1ohm stable, this will result in overheating, and/or going into "protection" mode, and/or damage to the amp.

Hope this helps.

GE digital timer. Instructions say to: 1) connect Hot/live wire of main to black wire of timer, 2) connect neutral (White) wires together, 3) connect Hot/live wire of load to red from timer. 4) green to...

Find the Hot wire:
Your switch has 2 wires. One of these wires is Hot, and one goes to load. Disconnect wires from switch. Turn on power. Do not stand on wet surface. Test each wire to bare copper wire. When tester lights up, that is Hot wire. The other wire goes to load.

Connect wires:
Hot wire goes to Black timer wire
Wire to load goes to Red timer wire
White wire connects to white wires that are twisted together
Bare copper wire connects to Green wire from timer

How to connect white wire to white wires that are twisted together.
a) Strip white timer wire so you have 1-1/2 " of bare wire. Stranded wire will wrap around other wires easily.
b) Remove wire nut. DO NOT UNTWIST wires.
c) Hold all whites together so bare copper lines up. Wrap stranded copper around the twisted wire.
d) Replace wire nut, or use larger wire nut. Twist real tight. Do not use tape. You can solder the connection.
e) When done, pull on white time wire to make sure it is held tight. Push whites back into box.

MA audio HK 12 competetion subwoofer, the 1500 rms one, what is the ''Fs'' on that thing? There website doesn't tell me. Any guesses if you can't find the answer?

Fs is a thiele-small parameter, meaning resonance. You can use these parameters to simulate the woofer's bass response in different boxes etc.

I own a hk 12x2 and put it in a 2 cube inch sealed enclosure. will it sound better in a ported or bandbass

ported is the loudest your going to get as you get sound from the front and the rear of the sub compared to hearing only one side in a sealed or bandpass box.Bandpass boxes are very loud near there tuning frequency but tend to sound offish at tones that aren't near the tuning frequency. The same with ported boxes and the bass will tend to be a little sloppier compared to the tight bass of a sealed enclosure- it comes down to your musical preferences- more sound at the cost of clarity and loss of power handling capability or tighter cleaner bass with added power handling.

Specs for Ported Box for 2 12" MA AUDIO HK12X2 Subs

Hello joseph_delac,

MA Audio's website has the recommended box volume and port size online here. A ported enclosure needs 3.0 CuFt of internal volume and the port should be 48 sq/in and 14.5" in length. A 4X12" rectangular port would give you the recommended 48 sq/in. Using 3/4" MDF, a box 16X18X25 has an internal volume of 3.25 CuFt allowing .25 CuFt for the sub and port displacement.

Hope this helps.
