Our Colby DVD938 Home Theater System has no power. We unplugged and plugged the system in. Still no power.

More info would help. Was it working before? For how long? How old is it? Have you checked the wall plug for power with a lamp or a tester? How long did you wait for the system to reset before you plugged it back in? IF the wall plug has power and IF you've waited at least 10 minutes before you plugged it back in, then try this: unplug all of the power cords from each component to the next component until all are unplugged. THEN unplug the main power cord going to the wall plug. Wait 10 minutes, then plug back in all of the power cords to the MAIN UNIT and then plug the main unit (the receiver I would assume) back in the wall. If that doesn't work, something in the HTS itself is blown. Good luck. . .

After charging battery, the phone dial reads, out of range,or no pwr at base

Double check that the power cable is _fully_ plugged into the phone base, then check to see that power cable is fully plugged into wall outlet; and/or fully plugged into phone wall outlet. (Some base units have no power adapter and get their power from the phone outlet on the wall). In short, double check _all_ wired connections. Do not assume they are fully plugged in.

We had a power outage, now pixma Mx410 won't come on, any ideas?

Is pinter plugged into a power strip? Try plugging directly into wall. Make sure wall outlet is working correctly, try another item in plug in. Does printer have a power module or brick that is plugged into printer? That power module is there to protect your printer during a power surge, it may need to be reset. Is there a light on that brick or power module? If so, does it light up? If not, could be a bad power module. There is no such thing as "reset" button, so don't look there...It will have to be reset in a series of ways for an "external" module.
  1. Disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  2. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet, power strip, or surge protector.
  3. If the printer uses a power module with a detachable power cord, disconnect the cord from the power module.
  4. Wait 15 seconds.
  5. If the printer uses a power module with a detachable power cord, reconnect the power cord to the power module.
  6. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
  7. Plug the power cord directly into a wall outlet. Do not use a power strip or surge protector.
  8. Check to see if the power module or the power cord has an indicator light and if it is on
For an internal module:
  1. Disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  2. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet, power strip, or surge protector.
  3. Wait 15 seconds.
  4. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
  5. Plug the power cord directly into a wall outlet. Do not use a power strip or surge protector.
  6. Check to see if the power module has an indicator light.
Not sure if this will help you..but worth a try.....

I have a kenmore dishwasher quitewash1 it will not get power or come on

Make sure the circuit breakers to the dish washer are on. Cycle them off then on to make sure. This will reset the GFI breaker. Plug the machine into the wall plug and make sure the wall plug in not a GFI also. If it is reset the wall plug and you should have power.

We have a problem with the majic jack adapter. It does not work when plugged into the wall. It only works when plugged into the computer. This is a new 5 yr warranty majic jack that was working when...

This is a common problem with the magicjack. It works when plugged into a USB port on the computer, but not when plugged into an AC wall socket. On the magicjack plus there is a blue power light near the word "plus". If that light is not on, then it is not getting power.
The problem is in the seperate magicjack power supply module.
When the magicjack is plugged into your computer USB port, it is getting power directly from the 5 volt source in the USB port.
In order to use AC wall current to power the magicjack, a power converter module is needed. That module contains a transformer and rectifier that coverts 115V AC into 5V DC. It is that power converter module that is failing.
The power converter module has an AC plug on one end and a USB socket on the other end. In order to power the magicjack from the AC current from the wall outlet, you plug the power adapter into the wall socket and the magicjack into the USB socket on the power supply module.
I had the same problem with my magicjack. I measured the 5V output of the power module to be only 3.5V. I took the power module apart to figure out why it failed. I found two 220uF 10V capacitors that were labelled "Low ESR" (C8 and C9). I measured the ESR of these caps and C8 was 1.5 Ohms. I replaced that cap and it fixed the problems. These two caps are circled in red in the photo.
I do not recommend repairing these power modules. I did it out of curiosity. These modules are very cheap. There are lots of AC to USB power converter modules available on Ebay for only a few dollars. Search Ebay for magicjack power adapter.

My display screen is rolling and nothing stops it. My computer says the printer is offline.

Try doing this procedure to correct the problem.

1. Unplug the power cord from the back of the product.
2. Unplug the power cord from any surge protectors or power strips.
3. Select a wall outlet to plug the product into. Test the wall outlet by plugging another electric appliance, such as a lamp, into the wall outlet and turning it on. Unplug the test appliance.
4. Plug the power cord into the back of the product.
5. Plug the power cord into the wall outlet.
6. Press the Power button to turn the product on.
7.Now check if its already working.

Power supply light is red

This issue occurs when the external power supply has detected a fault. The power supply has several built-in safeguards to help prevent damage to either the console or to the power supply itself. The power supply will turn itself off if one of the following conditions is true:
  • There is too much current
  • The voltage is too high
  • The temperature of the power supply is too high
Under these conditions, the light on the power supply turns red.

Step 1: Make sure that the power supply is cool loadTOCNode(2, 'whattotry'); The red light may indicate that the power supply is too hot or that it has already overheated. If the power supply light is red, follow these steps:
  1. Make sure that your Xbox 360 console is turned off.
  2. Disconnect your Xbox 360 Power Supply from your Xbox 360 console and from the wall socket.

For more information about how to disconnect the Xbox 360 power supply, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base: 906205 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/906205/ ) How to connect and disconnect the Xbox 360 power supply
  3. Let the power supply cool for several hours in a well-ventilated space. Do not connect the Xbox 360 power supply to the console or to the wall socket during this time.
  4. After the power supply has cooled for several hours, reconnect the Xbox 360 Power Supply to the console and to the wall socket.
If the power supply light is still red, go to step 2. Step 2: Make sure that the power supply is plugged in correctly loadTOCNode(2, 'whattotry'); If the power cord is plugged in to an extension cord, a surge protector, or a power strip, the current or voltage that flows through the power supply may not be correct. Make sure that the power supply is plugged directly into a working wall outlet.
Step 3: Plug the power supply into a different wall socket loadTOCNode(2, 'whattotry'); Try a different wall socket. Ideally, plug the power supply into a wall outlet that is elsewhere in the house.

Computer shut down

The sparking has probably caused your circuit protection inside the AC adapter to turn off the current.
Also, when you are plugging an adapter in,,do not have it plugged into the wall power outlet when plugging into the laptop,,,plug into the laptop first and then plug into the wall.

Im looking for a plug to put in a wall socket and im trying to use an older cobra29 cb radio. Can you help?

Hey AlexJacob

a mobile cb radio like the cobra 29 requires 12V DC, to plug the radio into the wall you need a Power Supply. A small 5 amp power supply will help you. Their is no plug that goes Directly from a Mobile CB rado into a wall. You will need to plug a power supply into the wall, Then take the power chord (red and black with 3 prong [o oo] and connect red to red on the power supply and black to black on the power supply. Unfortunatly a cheap power supply will be $50+ check your local radioshack

Last night I turned-off my PC througg Windows and when I pushed the power button this morning nothing hapened. There is no sign of "life" from the PC.

Check the power source to the computer (both ends of the cord), if a surge protector is in line with the power , remove it and plug the computer straight into the wall. also check the wall plug with a lamp or something to ensure power there. make sure the switch on the power supply hasnt been changed to the 220v side.
If no power at the wall- check your breaker box in the house
If it works plugged straight into the wall- check the surge protector
If power at the wall and plugged straight into the computer (no surge protector) and nothing lights up when you turn it on- have your power supply checked.
