I just purchased a Dell Inspiron 17 700 series for my husband to take for work in Africa. Where he is at he has to use an internet stick and the computer will not recognize the stick. Please if anybody can help us with this issue I would appreciate as this is our way of talking every night on Skype. Thank You in advance.

SOURCE: AC adapter not recognized

The AC adapter has a small wire in the center of the connector to the system. This sensing wire, if bent or broken will cause the error you mention.

Check the inside of the connector, since it is new, you can call Dell 800-624-9896 for a replacement adapter.

You mentioned trying a different battery, try a different AC adapter.

When plugging in the ac adapter to the wall, see if the POWER LED comes on on the adapter, then when you connect it to the computer, see if the LED stays on.

If the issue occurs with both AC adapters (No battery installed) then the motherboard has failed. If one ac adapter works but the other doesn't then the adapter is bad

Can't DOWNLOAD it or can't INSTALL it? Are you saving it to your computer first to install it later, or are you trying to install it while downloading? Save the files to your computer first, then run the install when the download is complete. What method of internet are you using (cable modem, DSL, dial up)?

You installed the driver for your card reader for the laptop. If its not recognizing any cards you put in there then that means the reader is bad and since that is integrated onto the motherboard, replacing the motherboard would be the only option in order to fix that problem.

ok, theres a small issue with the raid controller. You have to install a 3rd party raid driver (its on the dell cd) to continue, OR, you can set that BIOS's hard drive controls to ATA or LEGACY (legacy would likely work best, but youd have no 'raid' functions, but who sets up raid drives on a notebook?). Your last option is use the dell discs to restore, and inssert the windws disc when prompted

What is the best SD card to use in the Dell Inspiron 15 5000 series laptop?
there is no best. unless you stated.
what it is to be used for.(application, job, what?)
1: works (sure they do) but some huge ones do not work on really old PC or camera's.
2: or speed.
3: sizes, no job stated (usage) so no guess.

what you need we have no idea at all.
if saving video files speed matters?
if saving say only email, then small slow works ok.

your usage or applications, matter what you need.
they sell these at walmart, just buy one and be happy.

buyone $5, if not work take it back get another until happly.

Will the Intel Core 2 Duo P8700 cpu/processor work with the Dell Inspiron 1420 laptop? I have already tried it and it wouldn't work and I'm wondering if I have to do anything extra for it to work.
The 1420 uses T-series CPUs with a front side bus (FSB) of 800MHz. The P-Series CPUs use a 1033MHz FSB and are not compatible with the unit. You need to stick to the T-series to stay compatible.

hi hope this works but to me it works well. about the hdd error, find out if it is making cracking or any funny noise, if yes replace it with a new hard disk. or look on the internet for hirens xp it contains hard disk testing softwares and for the case of your daughter locked pc, in that hirens xp you will find soft wares for deleting all the passwords. but dont use it to crack passwords of stolen pcs.
