this is what i found out from the net.

Most hybrids are compatible with any CR2430 coin cell battery, which allows them to hold a charge for 4 to 6 months. Swapping in a new coin cell lithium battery can be done easily and in just a few simple steps, plus CR2430 batteries are available from most retailers that sell batteries.

Take it to a store that sells them, they will be happy to determine if it is a fake. Take the opportunity to see, feel and appreciate what a real one feels like and you will probably be able to tell in future if it is fake or not. Beware, there are some good 'fakes' out there. And remember, Only fake people wear fake watches.

It may be that the battery is getting near the end of its life.

Either the watch is faulty, in which case you need to return it to the store which you bought it, Tag Heuer are very good at fixing their watches. If you bought it elsewhere, check that it is genuine, before sending it anywhere, because if not a genuine Tag Heuer, you may not get it back. I'm guessing its a Quartz model, which are difficult to repair but simple and cheap to replace, which is what they will do (Tag/Jewellers) if its an Automatic model, then it will be repaired quite quickly, as very simple to do. Try either customer service or service centers for a replacement.

This part is a seal against water and to be sure that it is correctly fitted and tested, the watch should be sent to a makers service center.

You can find the address of you nearest center by going to "csec.tagheuer.com/csec/index.lbl" where you will find a menu on the left, choose "customer service centers" where you will find all the info you need.

My experience with Tag Heuer is that if it is covered under warranty, they will fix it. If not - they will fix it at significant cost. My stainless steel Tag was repaired after water damage for over $300.
Alternatively, if the watch still works, sell it on eBay but be clear that it is sold as a used watch, and show a clear picture of the face of the watch so buyers can see the fading. Some buyers will not care. Use the money to buy a new watch.

Either the crown or the case tube threads are stripped. Which ever part is stripped needs to be replaced. Keep in mind that both could be the problem. Be sure you don't get your watch wet until this is fixed. Your watch is NOT sealed for water resistance if the crown does not screw down.

I'm sure any watchmaker can do it for you. I've had one pop off an old one for me an replace it with a slightly used one he had. I would like to replace that with a new one. They're available in the UK, but they're pricey. Ebay is an option.
