It seems that DMC-FX01 was designed for the old SD card only, which is with limited storage of 2G. For the higher memory, it is then called SDHC, including the 4G memory and higher.
I have surfing panasonic and some other websites, but cannot see any way to solve this through eg. upgrade...
FX-01 was good camera in it's day but it has been out for 12 years and times have changed. That said, you can still get 1GB and 2 GB SD old-style cards on ebay and other sites. By the way, why hunt for a way to shoot on a 4GB+ card anyway? Low resolution (this one is 6mp) digital cameras with high capacity cards is a recipe for disastrous data loss. As long as your original cards for this camera are not corrupt just keep re-using those.

no way to solve...only SD is applicable...4G SDHC is not suitable for it

There is no "new" firmware upgrade for this model. Meaning it is NOT compatible with the SDHC card. Largest you can get is an SD 2GB card.
Sorry

Remove the card and battery. Clean the battery contacts inside camera with a cotton swab lightly dampened with rubbing alcohol. Be sure battery is charged. Press all buttons on camera. Insert card and then the battery. See if it works. If you can now get into the setup menu, you can do a reset from the menu.
