Make sure the inner basket "floats" up and down freely. Reach in and pull up on the rim of the basket. little force should be used to lift the basket off the hub. If not an overhaul might be needed. This is a common problem with earlier versions of these machines

Your washer is off balance or the load is unbalanced. If uL (unbalanced load) appears in display, the load is out of balance. The washer is running a load-balance correction routine.Sep 25, 2018
There is a small arm that contacts a switch in the tub area, When the tub wobbles and strikes it you get an error code OL=overloaded. The arm is bound up and must be lubricated.
YOUR CODE 01 - LOOK CLOSER I THINK IT IS C1. MOTOR PROBLEM - DRAWING TOO MUCH CURRENT. MUST FIND OUT WHY MOTOR WORKING TOO HARD. TOO HEAVE LOAD BUT U SAID DID NOT MATTER. ROTATE DRUM BY HAND AND NOTE IF IT IS SPINNING FREELY. IF OK REPLACE MOTOR.
Means that the load is out of balance and the machine cannot continue untill you rebalance the load your self,It tried to do it on its own but if it cant it will give you this code for you to do it.
First, OL/UL stands for "Overload", so in other words, the washer things the tub is too hard to move because it's overloaded and the motor is struggling or the unit is way out of balance causing the washer to struggle. The most common problem is a nut below the inner tub that needs to "float". Floating is when the tub fills up with water to a certain level the inner basket will rise about 1 inch from the center agitator. What this does is disengage the basket from the motor so that the agitator can rotate independently from the basket. If the basket does not float then when it tries to agitate the whole basket will turn back and forth at the same speed as the agitator and this will cause the OL/UL error code.
Hi jbrundage1. I believe you have a UL error code on the washer. It means that the sensors in the washer are sensing the unit is unbalanced. When the washer is empty, set it to a spin or rinse and spin setting. Run the washer through the cycle empty, as it will help to remove any excess water in the tub. Also, make sure the washer is level, as it is balanced on springs, and that could be throwing the sensors off. I hope these suggestions prove helpful. From what ive read and seen with that error code its a unbalanced load. Makes sure cloths are balance out right and make sure the machine isn't over loaded.
Kenmore Elite Top load washer machine. Error "OL" does not spin fast enough. Clothes are still very wet. I have checked the machine is sitting on even surface and well balanced from all sides. Any idea(s) ???
