Reset lexmark 23 black cartidge - Lexmark X4550 InkJet Printer

Check to make sure that the black cartidge has enough black toner level, ie not empty.

Have you purchased like for like. Some, there is a chip that has to be reset if cartidge is a refil?

If still available reinsert old used cartidge and see if you receive same message or just the empty/renew.

Happens with HP too.

change the black ink

you may not have it seated properly just take it completely back out and reinstall it and it should work fine if not unplug it and try again

Left/Right Cartidge Incorrect - huh? The printer is saying Left Cartridge Incorrect or Right Cartridge Incorrect,
and you are sure that you inserted the correct cartridge, a #23 or #24.


A small number of #23/#24 cartridges will report as Incorrect Cartridge because
of a manufacturing issue. There is a firmware upgrade available to fix this problem, and allow
the printer to accept the cartridge.

To apply the upgrade:

1. Make sure the printer is turned ON and connected with a USB cable.
   
2. Download and run the appropriate update program using the links above.
   
3. Be careful not to disconnect or turn off your printer while it is being updated.
   

When the update is complete the printer should automatically restart and accept the #23/#24 cartridges.

You will have to buy a new one because the return program cartidges are not reuseable. I read somewhere that the usage is connected to the cartridge, so even if you exchange one with a friend, theirs will not work on yours. Not sure how this works, but I had one and could not figure out how to bypass this feature. Best solution I found was to buy a new printer. It was cheaper than buying new cartridges.

Most common problems like this come from non-genuine cartridges, or refilled ones.

Lexmark cartridge's have a flaw in them from the mexico manufactures. The cartidge works ok on printer for a wile then quits working after sitting for to long. I work for a large firm that repairs coppiers and printers and we find this to be a problem in many of the returns. Clean connections and then reset printer by unpluging it.
If this does not solve problem you have a bad carriage.

IB4G2008: Do u actually have a solution or a better driver for this printer OR are u just out to promote your site?

Your solution is not helping & if u think it is, pls oh pls,let me know of a DIRECT link for it, as i havent found anything that makes the problem better, nor a better driver for that particular printer.

Pls advise.
