I have a new uniden dect 6.0 and caller id does not work. I have tried switch the line type from Type-A to Type-B of Off and none of the options make any difference. The previous uniden cordless phone I had the caller id worked just fine. This phone it has not worked since I bought it.
SOURCE: Caller ID not working
This is a Definity system phone. The phones themselves have nothing to do with caller ID, it's the system that handles it. The phone line has to have the caller ID service AND the phone system needs to collect the information and then display it on your phone. If you are sure caller ID service is available on the phone line you are using than this is a programming issue. Definity is a huge system and you cannot program it yourself. Someone in your building is either in charge of making simple changes in the phone system or contacting the company that makes these changes for you.
SOURCE: CALLER ID ONLY SHOWS "INCOMING CALL"
I was using this site while trouble shooting this in the US...
If the customer has DSL with filters in the same system go back to the NID and Isolate the DSL,
test the caller id and call waiting caller id. If this works you have Data Bleed coming from the DSL.
Make sure there are not two sets of filters on the line. Tjis customer had a filter with the DSL modem.
Doing this we just fixed an on going problem for a field tech who was the second callout on a customer issue.

Caller ID standards are different in India,so caller id won't display ; need to buy a converter which converts from DTMF to BellFSK standard

Install the batteries for the ID to operate? The only battery to install that I can see is the battery in the handset, I looked at the base and could not see any where to install any batteries.
