remove the lift pump and make sure its not on the back of the cam ,it will never work like this ,then remove the pipe from the carb end and try putting some fuel down it to prime and wet the valves inside the pump ,if that doesnt work check for a porous pipe froim the tank to the metal pipe that runs to the pump ,if that doesnt work then look inside the tank ?
if it worked for a short period of time after doing the pump/sending unit the check the connections going to the pump/sending unit they would have been moved around doing the pump
Yes your fuel pump is siezed. You need to remove the tank and drain the fuel then remove the pump.It may or may not be repairable.Got to a reputable dealer and seek help or replacement.take note of where any hoses/pipes go under the tank.
back to you again, i've done a zillion fuel pumps the sending unit for the how much gas is there is mounted on the side of the pump, unfortunatly you can't buy just the sndng unit have to buy whole fuel pump,or at least i always have, if you find someone who'll sell just sndng unit please let me know!!!!!
It is likely the fuel level sending unit. I had a customer with an 03 Monte Carlo that the pump went out and the fuel gauge hadn't worked in about a year. We replaced the fuel pump module and it took care of both problems. I believe the sending unit is available separately from the complete module.
