Power Surge on Hub Port

I have a Dell Optiplex GXC270 and it shows an error Power Surge on Hub Port & exceeded the power limits of its hub port when I plug in a Trendnet TEW 444 UB wireless adapter. It has worked in the past but now it does not.

No joy. The PC used to "chime" when the wireless adapter was plugged into a USB port and then it would start blinking. Now I get nothing. I have two adapters, both worked, now neither does.
