Simplicity 7 Series Vacuum. Suddenly stopped.

There is a thermal reset button on your vaccum. It is on the rear of the unit, just below the attachments and next to the sticker with the serial numer etc on it. The vacuum is designed to turn itself of if too much heat gets built up to prevent it from "burning up."

I need to purchase a new adapter for a Shark Cordless Sweeper model #V1700Z, adapter #KA12D075015023U. Can anyone shed light on this problem. Otherwise I have to through away the sweeper.

what you need is a 7.5 volt DC 150mA charger. If you check on some sites like ebay you may locate one. Another option is you may be able to go to an electronic repair shop and they might make one up for you. You nedd to bring them the sweeper so they know what connector needs to on it. A 7.5 volt is not expensive or uncomon and barrel plugs are cheap also.

There is no suction to the floor sweeper. The

Sounds like you have two separate problems here.  If the brush bar does not rotate, probably the belt is broken. This is easily replaced, but you need to be precise about which model you've got so you get the right belt.
Loss of suction is due either to a blockage or, quite often, to a split in the short length of clear plastic hose that leads back from the brush bar enclosure.  Repair is possible but replacement is better.

Short run time

I turned mine over, and took out all the little tiny screws. There are 10 of them. Then 1 by 1 I took each gear out and cleaned the cat hair from around it, then put it back together. Mine works perfect now.

Be careful, I suggest disassembling one corner at a time and putting it back together as you go.

Good Luck

Your instructions do not say how to get the sweeper to move so that you can sweep under the sofa.

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. there are not too many sweeper that actually get under the sofa when most sofas go almost to the floor and some uprights go flat and some sweepers but if the height of the sweeper or vacuum exceed the height of the sofa underneath then either one or the other cannot clean under the sofa if the height exceeds the sofa height limit without leaning your sofa back or lifting it up to clean.

Thanks, Don the Vac Man

Burning smell

Unlock the sweeper brushes and take them out. on each end is a cup bearing and should be free of debris.
then check around and under the belt and likely there is debris wrapped around it.
the post is getting hot as your pulling too much of a load.
though if it continues the motor may have a bad set of motor brushes (inside the motor) or bad wiring (kinda unlikely).
