Pt-47WX42 Need To Adjust Color

I had this problem a couple years ago and it was still under service-warranty from where we bought it. The service tech removed the front cover (The part with the cloth, similar to a speaker cover) I don't see any screws so I'm wondering if I should just rip keep pulling till it comes off. Anyone know the proper way of doing this?

The colors on my tv doesn't line up right. It has a 3D look and i tried to converge it. It will not let me do it. Its a panasonic HDTV PT-47WX42, PT-47WX52, PT-53WX42, PT-53WX52, PT-56WX42, PT-56WX52

set uses two of the STK-392-110 chips for convergence.

Both will have to be replaced.

I have start to finish step by step instructions for this repair based on me doing it in hundreds of these sets.

If you want the instructions, do you have a email?

Panasonic pt-47wx42 5 blinking power lights

5 blinks is short protection, it means a short on the 140 volt line coming from the set's power supply.

Most likely is the horizontal output transistor is bad.

Let me know if you want to know how to get at it and test it.

The set has a light box that contains everything that can be removed for this kind of service.

I am very familiar with this set and have fixed hundreds of them.

I have a panasonic pt-47wx42 a red shadow of the pick just showed up looks like a double???

If you have gone into the customer menu and CONVERGENCE is skewed and will not adjust:

One or both of the two STK-392-110 convergence chips that this set uses are bad.

The chips are about 2 1 /2 inches wide by 1 1/2 inches tall and are black in color. They are mounted on metal heat sinks2.gif with fins and are side by side--they will have the Stk-392-110 number printed on them in white letters.

If you locate them take a good look at all the light blue resistors in front of them--most are marked 2.2 ohms---look for any that are white or discolored in the middle---if you find one or more YOU HAVE FOUND YOUR PROBLEM.

BOTH chips and any bad resistors need to be replaced and the set adjusted. If you can do this repair you can save a lot of money as you can buy both chips (a pair) on Ebay for about 12 dollars plus shipping2.gif.

I have start to finish instructions for this repair on this type of set.

If you cannot do this repair yourself, shop around your area--most shops charge 300-400 for this kind of repair--I do them here for 200-250 and have done hundreds of them.

If they say it has to go to the shop--keep looking as any good tech can do this repair in your home in about 1 hour.

Pt-52lcx65 52 in.

call panasonic customer service....open a claim....problem is most likely that the eprom needs to be reflashed.....i contacted them several weeks ago, told them my problem which was 5 baseball sized colored spots, 1 red, 2 blue and 2 green. they had me perform a couple of tests using a dvd. when i reported the results they set up a service call with a local authorized repair shop. results were amazing. reflashing the eprom took about 4-6 minutes. in addition my brilliant color returned to the set as well as another problem of neon images going away. this was paid for by panasonic. my set was 2 years over warranty. panasonic has issued a service bulletin on this and are backing up these units.

Television has picture but with a ghost images and with a rainbow of color above the screen. I had bought this television a year ago. At a NATIONAL RENT-TO-OWN. IT SHOULD STILL BE UNDER WARRANTY!

This set has a convergence problem. This could be as simple as bad connections at the convergence ICs or defective ICs. In either case, the set should be under warranty and be repaired relatively simply. DO NOT open up the set as that would void hte warranty. Request warranty service and let us know if you need further assistance.

Plasma screen color problems

Hi
I just bought a 42pc5d plasma tv it's an LG I bought it in Sept. 07 it started doing the exact same thing your talking about here the red glow type thing. Luckily for me and I hope in your case that the tv is under warranty, although if you know someone or even a repair place I don't think it would cost much to fix (just a guess but the guy told me that it was an easy fix so don't let them try to screw you). It really is a simple fix according to the tech. You need to adjust the voltage. He took the tv and watched it until he saw the red and adjusted the voltage and I had my tv back the next day. This was about a week ago and I haven't seen it since. I hope this helps and I hope you have a warranty. By the way LG comes with a 2 year manufacturer's warranty standard so if you didn't get an extended warranty from where you bought it if it's less than 2 years old call LG and they will arrange to have it fixed that's what I did. Here's the number 1-888-542-2623. Good luck.
