The Epson EP 704A inkpad error message is an indication that the printer's ink pads are saturated with ink and need to be replaced. The ink pads are responsible for absorbing and collecting the excess ink that is generated during the printing process.
To resolve this issue, you will need to either replace the ink pads or have them reset by an authorized Epson service center. It is not recommended to continue using the printer without addressing the inkpad error, as it may result in further damage to the printer.
You can contact Epson support or a local Epson service center for further assistance with resolving the inkpad error on your Epson EP 704A printer.
you might need to reset the ink pad counter on the r300 unit. there is a required button sequence that you must follow. try this Reset the inkpad counter to zero by holding down both the Power and Stop
buttons for at least 10 seconds. then turn the printer on and off. hope this helps

that only means that the inkpad of your printer is already soaked by dried inks, this inkpad is the part of the printer is like a foam that absorbs excess inks when your printing, doing head cleaning, and head alignment, when it is soaked, the rprinter will stop working cause it can affect the output or print out, unfortunately, the inkpad is not a user replaceable part so either you go to service center, so they can replace it or better yet call epson if your printer is till coverd by 1 yr warranty, they should send you a replacement printer. thanks.
That is a container placed underneath the nozzles that collects all of the excess ink so that it doesn't droll on your desk. If you are a technician, you can remove it yourself, clean it up (wash it with water and soap) and then place it back in. Or you can go with the printer to specialists and have them clean it up for you.
