Can't remember if it was an o5 or o7 but I used my scanner to remove code after repair. If you don't have a scanner go to Autozone and they will do it for free.

My ac heater and defrost will not work at all in my 2005 Hyundai Tucson new blower motor and resister what else

Hi,

Please check the heater motor and also the thermostat. If those don't work, then this can also lead to your ac/heating system to malfunction as well.

Please use autozone to get a free diagnostic run on your car to get a list of errors. Then, they can tell you which errors are relevant to your ac/heating issue.

Thank you.

Egr valve on tucson where is it

There is NO EGR valve/system on the 2005 Tucson. This particuar powertrain uses the CVVT (Continuous Variable Valve Timing) system which eliminated the need for EGR.

Go to www.hmaservice.com and register your vehicle by VIN #.. you'll then have access to wiring diagrams, shop manuals, service bulletins, illustrations and procedures, etc.

The check engine light is on, the EGR valve has been replaced, code P0401 appears on diagnostic. The engine is 4 cyl DOHC 2 wd. slight exhaust odor at times in vehicle.

Are you reset the stored codes there? The EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) valve controls an engine's emission of smog-causing nitrous oxides, or NOx. Its job is to route a portion of the exhaust gases back into the intake manifold. That lowers combustion temperature to below 2,500 degrees Fahrenheit - the temperature at which NOx gases form.

EGR flow is controlled by the engine's computer, which opens or closes the valve as needed. The EGR system is, for the most part, in the "out of sight, out of mind" category, and typical doesn't require regular maintenance. But if it gets clogged with carbon deposits, you'll see your "check engine" light come on, and a code (perhaps P0401 or P0402 or P0403) will show that there is insufficient flow. That typically results from a vehicle being driven persistently on short trips that don't allow the engine to fully warm up. Flow problems also can be caused by carbon buildup due to failure to change the oil frequently enough.

A clogged EGR valve not only results in higher emissions, it can affect fuel economy and cause rough idling - even serious engine damage. Valves can usually be cleaned, but replacement is often recommended.

About thie generic fault code, I suggtes check this description and tips for solution information: DTC-P0401-Tests (keep in midn that this code applied for alot brands, Hyundai included).

The computer on the truck says to have maintenance performed. Checking the owners manual, it says the EGR valve needs to be replaced. Where is the EGR valve, what does it do and where do I get the part?...

Are you sure that the Owners Manual is telling you to replace your EGR Valve or is it simply telling you to check it? Does the light on the dash say "Maintenance Required"? or is your Check Engine light on? If your vehicle is equipped with "Maintenance Required" light, the vehicle usually does not need anything. You simply check the systems that are listed by the manufacturer to check, make repairs only as necessary, and reset the light. Chrysler did some goofy stuff with Maintenance Required lights back in the 80's where they recommended replacemet of a whole bunch of parts that the vehicle didn't need to have replaced. We used to just reset the light and send the vehicle back to the customer. I haven't seen one of those for a while. If your 2007 has one of these, it means Chrysler is up to some old stuff for 2007.
On the other hand, if it is the "Check Engine" light that is on, the computer needs to be scanned for fault codes and diagnosed and repaired accordingly. Also EGR valve failures are pretty rare. When the Engine Computer sets a fault code for the EGR system it usually is not caused by the EGR Valve itself. Your 2007 is OBDII compatible, which means if you are having a problem with your EGR System the Check Engine light will be on and fault codes will be stored in the Engine Computer.

I have a Tucson 2006 2.0 liter diesel engine. After 220,000 KM Engine check light switched on. I was asked to replace the Turbo sync units. After replacement of the unit the engine check light switched on...

If the light comes on and goes off, or be turned off with a computer and not come on. it was an intermittent problem. could be anything. as simple as a little water in the fuel line passing thru the engine and setting an 02 code. Which went back in the perimeters and didn't really set a code, just turn the light on. Intermittent problems crear themselves after so many starts. I wouldn't worry about it.
