I would not do that. if you are wanting to go darker. If you are blond and you use an ash color, it will go really ashy or bluish. However if you are trying to go lighter, yes you can. use at least 30 vol. and follow timing instructions.

Check to make sure the battery is good bring it to a advance auto parts store they check the batteries for free. If battery checks out ok be sure to clean the battery trerminals and battery posts then reinstall and proceed to start the car after the car is running use a voltmeter to check the output at the large red wire where it bolts to the back of the alternator the reading should eb a minimum of 13.5 vols if lower than that the alternator must be replaced. The car shuts down when the battery dies because the ignition system must have a minimum of 12 volts to operate.

check your beakers, be careful but you may want to flash the sys. if you have a brush sys, on the back you should have a cover that pops out. left is hot right is ground. take a 9 or 12 vol battery (lawn mower battery). take the wires from battery to gen set and flash it for one second with the unit running at full throttle. if not a brush unit us a plug type wire and plug it in to the 120 vol receptacle for one second. than check to see if you have power. if not repeat but hold for 2 to 3 second. again check power out put. if none take to a shop

Measure the output voltage, if it is low then you must replace the charger, they don't sell parts to repair them.
