SOURCE: f22 on my vaillant boiler turbo max

Hi Guy's,
The answer is that your system is out of water pressure.
Usually there is a nob on the right under the base of the unit near to the small dial to the right of the front cover.
To enable the system to work correctly the needle on this dial should be in the Grey, about midway position.
Currently with fault F22 this will be lower to below the Grey and on the needle.
To bring the pressure back to the correct position, you need to turn this nob until you hear the water entering the system, KEEP AN EYE ON THE DIAL AND TURN THE WATER OFF AGAIN WITH THIS NOB ONCE THE DIAL IS IN THE CORRECT GREY POSITION AS MENTIONED ABOVE. DO NOT OVER FILL THE SYSTEM. I suggest you check this every six months or so.
Once this is corrected your unit will light up again.
Best of luck. Mike. N.

My Vaillant Boiler (sorry don't have a model number, although about 16 years old) is giving me central heating but no hot water...BG came round and just said i would need a new boiler (£2000+)...

Vaillant UK have therir own service techs (I used to be one). They sound pricey but they carry plenty of spares and usually fix it properly first time. These units are complicated and many gas guys shy away from working on them; either try and sell you new or hand out massive bills to replace parts that don't need replacing. At a guess i reckon the water section is either blocked in the venturi or the diaphragm is punctured, both easy fixes. Vaillant used to be about 120 pounds for an hour inc. callout, as I said sounds expensive but it gets fixed, maybe ask for a service at the same time so you get your moneies worth.

The only cost for this advice is if you do get them out let them know big Steve from Plymouth is enjoying Australia (left Vaillant after 10 years service in 1999 to emigrate to Oz)

Hi i get fault 28 on my vaillant boiler

F-28 is a common error for my vaillant. I have had this problem serviced at least 10 times (all under warranty). It is an ignition problem and can be connected to a number of things. I have had the starter electrodes cleaned only to later have them replaced(4 times). I just had the "panel" replaced yesterday (looks like a motherboard or electronics panel). This is the second time to have this replaced. All of these things can give you an F-28 error message. I have an atmotech pro and have had ongoing F-28 issues for two years. They are looking at venting/air issues as well to see if this is the problem. douglas
