Uniden 7855 Water Proof (handheld) wont re register

Had an issue with Uniden 7855, the phone base hand held wont work. Therefore sent it back and recieved a new one. I also have a water proof one. I de registered this one. I went through the process Here it is step-by-step: 1. Remove battery

2. Hold down the * and # buttons and reinsert battery. You should hear a long beep. If not retry. (This is a bit awkward but hold the handset upside down and it’s workable)

3. Screen will be blank. Immediately press the right soft menu button.

4. Screen will report that EEPROM is clearing and then state EEPROM Clear Ok

5. Remove battery (yes again)

6. Reinsert battery (this time there’s no need to hold down any buttons)

7. Handset will reboot with Welcome screen and then state that phone must be registered (this is the status a handset should be in from the factory)

8. Place handset on base and it will register as normal

The base station register as hand held 2 ( which is usually indictade on the WP handheld) and is functional, however I am unable to get the water proof one to function at all. Batteries are charged.

ppreciate any suggestions

SOURCE: Uniden 2645 out of range

The problem of phone not registering is sorted, I simply put that hand piece(2) into base station and it registered straight away, as for the "out of range" problem, we have not had a long enough call today to know yet , hopefully resetting to factory settings helped.

SOURCE: I can here them but they can't hear me

Hello,

I have the TRU9585 with 4 hansets. We used them for about 3 months, worked great. One day, I can hear caller, caller can't hear me. Problem was a defective transistor in base unit. Part number C2120, small 3 legged device near bottom of unit. Replaced it with generic NPN transistor from Radio Shack. Caution...should only attempt repair if you have worked on electronics before and can solder...Also C2120 configuration is not standard, configured emitter-collector-base instead of emitter-base-collector...Good luck!!!

SOURCE: Handset Fails to Register

It is quite possible that you'll need to go into the menu settings on your base-unit and reset the unit or restore factory default, whichever option it gives you. Also, look in the menu on the phone to see if there is an option to reset the handset also. After resetting the unit and/or handsets, try to register the handsets again, one at a time. If that still does not fix the problem, you may have handsets that are not compatible with your system, or your system may not be able to support that many phones. However, if you have the right handsets, and your system can host that many handsets, then I'm confident that resetting the unit and re-registering your handsets should fix your problem.
Hope this helps! Have a nice day!

SOURCE: Uniden PowerMax 5.8 no audio transmission on two of three remotes

If phone is more than 1 yr. old, battery needs to be replaced, if not reset base by disconnecting power, pressing and holding delete key while reconnecting power.

SOURCE: How to remove Uniden handset from base

The brillian people at Uniden don't feel it necessary to provide this type information in their manuals. You have to trial and error to find it, but what can you do. All you have to do to reset the base unit itself is to unplug the power, then while holding down the delete key, plug it back in. Hold the delete button down until you hear a beep, which indicates it has reset. Now you can readd handsets and they will start at 1.

DCX170 handset will not register to DECT2060 Base

Yes, it looks they are compatible. I would guess you need to set up from scratch. Remove all power to base unit and handsets, batteries to handsets, and phone line and start from the Base unit, to powering handsets again.

Do I need to register by new uniden cordless phone?

depends on the country
In Australia , receipt is proof of purchase date and registering with the company is not necessary
the registration that is necessary is each hand piece to the unit base station and the user book tells you how to do that

CAN NOT CLEAR WATER PROOF DECT 6.0 PHONE TO REGISTER IT SAYS TO PUT ON BASE BUT I WANT TO REGISTER ON MY OTHER UNIDEN BASE BUT PHONE WON'T FIT ON BASE

Not stating the model number of your phone makes it a bit difficult because the process is not the same on all models. I am going to deal with the cordless main base only Remove any handset from the main base cradle. Then
On the waterproof handset Press and Hold the # sign until the Registering handset option shows then release it.Then on the main base, Press and Hold the FIND hs or Find or locator button for 5 seconds ( if there is no IN USE light on the base) or until the IN USE light come on, then release it. Hold the handset near the base and it will register.
Please note the Uniden waterproof handset could be a bit tricky to register and not knowing the model makes it more difficult. and you may have to apply other methods.

My base unit unit keeps flashing 8-88, and the hand sets all say searching

If there is an error code with an E followed by a number or "88" displays/flashes it would be an internal issue in the base unit. Uniden does offer a limited 1 year warranty (Covers Manufacture Defects ONLY, if caused by a power surge or power outage or any other type of damage that is not a Manufacture Defect this is not covered under warranty) off the proof of purchase. The proof of purchase is required for warranty service.

Welcome to Fixya

Try to de-register and register the handset from the base. See procedure below:

Take the phone out of the cradle (charger). Press and hold simultaneously red telephones symbol key and the #key for more than 5 seconds. You will hear a confirmation tone and DEREGISTRATION COMPLETE appears. Now go to the OTHER phone (the MAIN phone). Take it out of its cradle and put the deregistered second handset in the MAIN cradle. The window displays a few messages and then REGISTRATION COMPLETE.

Thank you for using FIxya!

I have three handset cordless phone only the main base phone work the other two says connecting when you turn it on but it wont connect it have loss its connection with the base phone

Often the handsets must be re-registered when they won't work. Sometimes they have to be de-registered, then re-registered before getting them to work. Uniden has many different model number 5.8 GHz cordless phones, send a comment with the model number and I will give specific help on your cordless. I have included a link where Uniden cordless manuals can be downloaded if you need it.

My uniden ltd 715 receives from my handheld but when I transmit to handheld it just buzzes.

Just to clarify something, you say that your hand-held VHF can receive a clear transmission from the Uniden, now which of the radios are buzzing, the Uniden or the HH?. If it's the hand-held buzzing try transmitting on the low watt on the Uniden, get some distance from the radio, because if the hand-held are to close to the on the Uniden on high watt you will get a buzzing, the signal are overpowering the receiver of the hand-held, try getting the minimum of 30 feet away. Good luck.

Handheld won't communicate with the base

i have the same problem and it has happened infrequently several times. you probably have to deregister the handset and re-register it and rest the base and handheld to communicate since my model is different from yours there may be differences in how to go about it but for my model the suggestion is as follows:

go to www.uniden.com for customer support here is a direct link to some frequentlt asked questions http://www.mycusthelp.com/uniden/supportfaq.asp?sSessionID=&lstFilter_a=&lstFilter_b=&lstFilter_c=&txtCriteria=hanset+won%27t+connect+to+base&optcond=2&iStartCount=1

Try resetting the phone system by using the following steps:

1) Enter the "System Reset" menu, then "Deregister HS" submenu.
2) Press volume/up or down arrow keys to select the handset ID to be de-registered from the list, then press the OK soft key.
3) Press the OK soft key. You will hear a confirmation tone. When de-registration is complete, "Deregistration Complete" appears.

4) After de-registering the handset, move to "Replacing the Base Setting" below. When you go through the deregister procedure if you get "out of range", That is okay. Go ahead and go to the next step.

Replacing the Base Setting
1) Enter the "System Reset" menu, then "Replacing Base" submenu. "Do you want to replace Base?" appears.

2) Press the OK soft key. You will hear a conformation tone. The base information will be deleted. When replacing the base is complete, "Please Register" appears, register the handset to the new base.

If your handset is reading out of range. Check the the main base and make sure you unit has power. This can be done by placing the handset in the main base to see if the charge in use light comes on.
If your main base isn't getting power please make sure the ac adapter is plugged in and is warm to the touch. If not the ac adapter would be damaged.
To resolve out of range follow the below steps.
Press and hold the end key.
Press and hold the # key.

Release the keys and select replacing base and press select.
You will see Replace base?
Select Yes and press select.
Now place the handset on the base and it should register to the base and allow for calls to be made.
