Avex universal remote programming for Viore TV

Have you tried the search method?Turn the tv on manually. Hold the TV button and the SELECT button down together on the Avex remote until the light comes on. Then use the up (or down) arrow button to scan the codes. Use the up (or down) button slowly but quicker than 30 seconds. If it comes across the right code the tv will turn off. If the set goes off press the power button on the remote to turn the tv back on and test the volume and channel buttons for operation. If some of the buttons don't work continue pressing the up (or down) button until the tv cutts off again. When (and hopefully if) you find the right code press the TV button on the remote again and the light will blink 3 times to indicate it is programmed. I do hope this helps and thanks for using Fixya.

I have a philips magnavox tv with the original remote. closed caption constantly (writing script)comes on tv screen, even though the remote has a cc button,i press it until cc off comes on, the cc goes off...

You're not doing anything wrong. Your TV is somehow turning the cc on "all by itself". Some bit is getting flipped inside the TV, turning the cc on.

either that or there is some sort of rf or ir interference near the TV that is mimicking the CC button on the remote.

Have you pressed the cc button on the remote, verified the cc is "off" on the TV and then removed the batteries from the remote for a while to make sure there isn't something hinky with the remote???

Program for my tv

Push the t.v. button on the remote then push and hold the on/off button and the t.v. button down at the same time until the on/off button comes back on and stays on, then you release them both. Then push the CH+ or channel up button on the remote and the on/off button alternatively until the t.v. goes off or comes on, each time you hit the CH+ button on the remote you are advancing the code for you t.v. forward in your remote, after your t.v. comes on or off then hit the stop button on the bottom of the remote and you have stored the code for your t.v. Hope this helps.
