Mintek DTV-260 I would like to connect a antenna to this TV. There is an unlabled coaxil cable input in the back. I connected my RCA antenna. Which has rabbit ears and no power adapter to the tv in this location. Set the antenna to CATV which is what comes up when TV in on. I get nothing but fuzz. Is this TV just not compatible with antenna or is there another way to connect? Perhaps an adapter or a tv box? Brand is discontinued, cannot get ahold on company.

The Mintek DTV-260 only has a NTSC (analog) tuner. You will need to connect your RCA antenna to a digital to analog converter box to watch TV over the air. Then connect the output of the converter box to your TV.

The common converter boxes are limited to SD output. You might be able to find an HD converter box online. (With the standard converter box, the available outputs are coaxial and composite video.) The DTV-260 has a composite video port; alternatively set the TV to channel 3 or 4 and use the coaxial (RF) input on the TV.

There may be a low-power station that still broadcasts in analog. However these are rare. You will need to switch from CATV to OTA (Air) to check for one of these stations. Analog Cable has different parameters than scanning for over the air signals.

I hope this helps.

SOURCE: Quasar VV-2001 TV/VCR combo - msg: Check Antenna Cable Connection

Check first the antenna using another TV. If there is no other TV available, check using an ohmeter. If you are 100% sure tha the antenna is ok then the antenna connector on your Tv is not making a good connection to the antenna plug.

SOURCE: Samsung CXD2512 TV/VCR Combo...Cannot hook up DVD player

We also don't have a remote. We hooked a DVD/VCR combo to the Samsung combo by attaching the cable from the cable line to the DVD player and an additional cable from DVD to TV and it used to work but after we lost the control, the DVD can only be listened to but not seen. The VHS from the DVD player works perfectly though.

When we had the remote (before connecting the other combo) we used line-in to see a DVD or VHS using the yellow red and white cables from the Samsung to the other player.

Yes, you need an antenna -- rabbit ears or some other type of digital antenna.

SOURCE: Connecting DVD player to Sony trinitron KV-20DVM30

Your description of your set sound like it is a mono set. You should be able to plug in the yellow and the white connectors and get sound out of both speakers. On most sets, if there is audio on the left (white) wire it will produce sound from both speakers.

How do I hook up Coby 5" black & white TV to my digital converter box ?

You will need a digital to analog converter which you can get at Radio Shack, Best Buy and most big box retail outlets or online. Your Coby is most likely analog and will require the digital signal to be converted to an analog signal from the digital converter box to the TV. UNLESS the digital converter box has analog (round connectors on the back) then you just need an analog RCA cable (which you can also get almost anywhere even your local CVS/Walgreens) to make the connection.

How do you connect a coaxile cable wire to nec plasma tv that has no coaxile connection plug.

You need to have a decoder box from a over-the-air (DTV), cable or satellite provider that has an HDMI, "S" video, composite video, VGA or component video outputs to connect to the TV's input. The coaxial cable only plugs into the decoder box. Apparently your TV doesn't have a tuner for coaxial RF.

I do not see a standard cable input on the tv...is there an adapter to connect standard cable line to the antenna input?

if the TV has 2 screws for an antenna connection then you could use what is called a BALUN aka matching transformer. you can buy them at a dollar store. it has a male cable connection and 2 wires.

I am surprised that an LCD TV would have an antenna connection, they are from the days before cable TV.

if your TV does not have a cable input you can use an old VCR as a tuner
or buy an RF converter (but they are overpriced IMO)

you would plug the TV cable into the VCR and use rca cables red,and white for right and left audio, and yellow for video

DOES THE MINTEK DTV 260 REQUIRE A DIGITAL CONVERTER BOX

It requires a box "period". It is only a monitor with no tuner. You will have to get a HD cable box, or if your on an outside antenna you will need the hd converter box and also with satellite.

DTV hookup for an RCA XL-100

Try the $40 RCA DTV Tuner/Converter from Wal-Mart. Connect your existing VHF/UHF antenna (if you don't have one, Wal-Mart sells them too) to the antenna input on the back of the converter and the converter to the antenna input on the back of the TV. If it has only twin lead antenna inputs instead of the standard coaxial type, you'll need a simple twin-lead/coaxial connector, which is about $5. Tune to VHF channel 3 or 4 (set your converter switch correspondingly), turn on the conveter box and follow the onscreen instructions. If you see static, use the automatic or manual fine tune control until you see a clear picture of the menu screen.

I believe I broke the antenna connection on my Mintek TV.

Definitively you broke the connector. Look in the internet the web site of Mintek. But since for a technician is not a big deal to fix, you can take that TV to ANY repair service, because is very easy to do it. I strongly recommend that.
