Manitowok ID0452A-161 water not draining one water tray is filled causing water to over flow into ice bin melting ice. Need to know where the float switch is and dump valve solenoid. FOR TROUBLESHOOTING

Poor draining of water in the ice bin will cause a high rate of ice melting, Remember this is not a freezer but an ice maker. If the machine is making ice OK but it is melting to fast then check to make sure the bin is draining all the melt off and not letting water stand in bin causing ice to melt fast.

At first I wanted to say it has to fill with water to make ice but I know you mean the ice bin is filling with water. You either have an issue with the water control valve leaking or your timer isn't working properly. Listen for the water to flow and when it seems to shut off look at the tray fill spout and see if it actually stopped dripping. If it continues to drip (not flow normally) then the valve is leaking. If it isn't dripping but the water in the ice tray over flowed, then the issue is either with the timer or the adjustment is incorrect.

The bin should fill up and the machine shut off in 24-36 hours from time it is turned on. If not the condenser coil may be dirty.
1.Clean the coil this should be done every year.
The bin brain may be partially restricted causing ice to melt faster.
1. clean out the drain.
The air flow to the condenser may be obstructed.
check to make sure there is nothing covering up the grill or coil.

Is the bin drain line and dump drain line tied together. If so then it is melting ice from the bin. now when ice machine starts up it will dump the old water in sump tray so it will be fresh water during new freeze cycle.

Too high of water pressure letting in more water then it can drain off. Try turning down the water first

There are a couple of things to check. The machine must be level. You can remove the front cover and the plastic sheet that covers the plate where the ice is made. Check to see that the water is flowing from the manifold at the top of the plate. You may have to pop the hose off the end of that manifold to clean the water holes out. It must flow evenly over the plate. Probably the most common problem is the radiator coil there the fan draws air through is clogged up so that it can't dissapate heat properly. You should be able to feel a lot of hot air moving through the coils. The fan cycles on and off periodically to maintain a certain pressure in the freon. That is normal. Clean the fan coils and level the machine.

The drain can get a build up in it over time or a foreign object can get in there and block the water flow.

To clear the drain:

- Turn off the refrigerator and unplug

- Locate the drain (it may be under all the ice) it is just below the cooling coils close the slots in the back panel. The drain hole is about the size of a dime.

- Use hot water and bath towels to unthaw the ice, DO NOT use a chisel and hammer as you can cause damage. A hair dryer may work too but be careful not to melt any of the plastic walls.

- Once the top ice is gone, use a turkey baster to flush down the drain hole until the water flows free.

- A small amount of spilled water on the floor is normal while doing this so have towels ready.

make sure that the temperature is 8 degrees Fahrenheit or lower. If the freezer is too warm, the ice maker won't cycle properly.

The ice maker fill tube may be blocked with ice. If so, melt the blockage using a hair dryer-but be careful to not melt any plastic parts! Also replace the water shut-off valve or water-inlet valve, or both, if necessary.

Clear the Ice tray by pressing the button under the ice maker. The problem is that the ice is in the first couple of slots is not dumping and the tray tries to fill again and over flows. I pressed the button and cleared the tray of ice (This will tilt the tray and twist it to empty it) that was re-frozen several times without dumping. My ice maker works perfectly after I did the above. I think the problem arises if the door did not close completely. I stopped hanging the dish cloth on the door and on my LG Dish wisher. Your icemaker tray has an update for the water flowing over the tray.  You will need to call a qualified LG technician to get it replaced.  Also, the tray is twisted because it binds itself against the hinge pin on the left side.  To stop this, spray some cooking spray oil in the left hinge pin and it should unbind itself and return to normal.
