Was the hard drive contain any previous operating system? If it was, then you need to chose "Delete the volume" and "Format", and let's see the result after you reinstall the Windows 7.

SOURCE: dell inspiron 1520 error code 2000-0146

I had the same problem and came across this solution that worked for me as well:
Re: windows Vista will not start 18 Aug 2009 07:28PM I was getting a the same error codes and couldn't get Windows to boot up at all. I went to BIOS set up (restart your computer and hit F12 when the BIOS screen comes up), went to onboard devices and changed the SATA Operations from ACHSI (don't know how it got there) to the factory default setting ATA. Then I started up in "repair mode" (which was an option that was coming up when I tried to boot up before but never worked) - it went through a repair check and went to login screen.
Prior to finding this - I tried several things including start up from the Reinstallation disc, but nothing worked. I was ready to buy a new hard drive, but don't have to. Works fine!
Not sure what caused the problem to start with. It is an "Inspiron 1520"

SOURCE: dell inspiron 5150 laptop, reset admin. password.

Restart your laptop and keep tapping F8 key the moment you see something on the screen. You will get a black screen with some options written in white. Select the option Safe mode and then you can create a new user with admin rights. Or else at the windows login screen press and hold ctrl and alt key and tap delete key twice and then it will take you to a login screen. Dont put any password there just hit enter. And you will be able to login with admin rights.

Thanks

SOURCE: 7 beep error message for

For the Dell Inspiron Mini 1012 Netbook, 7 beeps indicates bad memory (system RAM). The memory will need to be replaced.
The RAM can be replaced using a small Phillips screwdriver and removing the back-plate on the bottom of the laptop. When you see the memory (sticks around 3 inches long), pull those out and put new ones in. Make sure it's the correct DDR2 memory.
Good luck!

CAN'T FIND WIN7 DRIVER FOR BLUETOOTH HBS-200 HEADSET

Unfortunately, Windows 7 removed native support for bluetooth headsets, for absolutely no reason.

The drivers are actually not needed for the Headset specifically, but rather for the A2DP and AVRCP profiles and audio sink. The downside is that Microsoft's Bluetooth stack does not support either of these.

So you need a Better Bluetooth Stack, so it understands all of the virtual Bluetooth devices.

These directions work for almost any headset that has issues when connected to Windows. Sadly, there is no really good well-defined set of drivers for Windows Bluetooth, so it will frequently take some finagling.

1: Find the correct and absolutely most-up-to-date drivers for your Bluetooth hardware on your computer. In -MOST- cases, the chipset is Broadcom, however manufacturers such as Dell and others tend to put some odd wrappers around the chip so their drivers are required. If not, the direct-from-Broadcom drivers will work.

2: IF the Bluetooth hardware is already detected by Windows, delete it from device manager. Reboot the computer if this was done.

3: On reboot, Windows may detect it and reinstall it fresh. This is fine if it does. Allow it to install and reboot if it requests.

Once the Windows stack is installed properly, you can install the updated stack. With Dell drivers and other OEM computer manufacturer drivers, Windows may not detect it to begin with, however having Windows drivers first is not necessary with these drivers.

4: Install the proper driver. With the Broadcom driver, this will only work if Windows has already installed. With OEM drivers, this is often not necessary. Reboot if necessary.

With the happy stack installed, and the headset paired, you will find that instead of just Handsfree Telephony and Headset services, you will also have Remote Control and Audio Sink services.

Headset/Handsfree: Mono 38kbps audio out and also a microphone input. This is what is used for phone calls. It sounds horrid, mind you.

Audio Sink: Stereo happiness and joy. No microphone input.

Once you have these devices, you do need to set your audio playback device appropriately for Stereo Happiness and Joy.

I updated my dell Inspiron 1300 to 64-bit and I get this error report, how do I change it back to 32-bit? I have the windows 7 disk.

Hi Michael,

Is your Laptop fitted with a 64bit processor?

If not, then that is why you get this error.

To resolve the issue, you need the 32bit version of your OS installed, if you only have the 64bit software, you will need to get a copy of the 32bit version of the OS disc set, and do a fresh install.

Me thinks this is your problem & I hope I'm right, if not, let me know and we'll try something else, but remember to give as much detail as you can, so I'm not guessing.

Cheers,
Peter

Hi what keys do i press to format a dell inspiron 1150 laptop

If you mean wiping the hard drive & starting fresh I would do a low level format. This will make the hard drive as if it was new from the store, but you will have to reload Windows & other software. You should have a good knowledge of computers before doing this or ask a friend who knows computers to help.
