Power up a Xerox 8860 MFP printer

Machine powers on but the display panel does not operate. How do I correct this?

If the control panel display is completely blank but the printer works, you have a faulty panel. I can order it, feel free to contact me, its possible xerox will still cover this under warranty. Call xerox tech support, tell them the issue and see if the control panel would still be covered under warranty eventhough your machine is out of warranty. instructions come with replacing the part.

You will have to replace the fuser. Call 1-800-835-6100 and follow the prompts to purchase parts. It isnt real expensive. Just make sure you still don't have some warranty left on the parts.

Try to cange the toner cartridge , i have many units phaser3200 and this is one of the problem , but only if the toner cartidge is very old and many time refilled , if not , change the Laser unit . For a cheap one i recomand LSU from samsung scx4725f its identic

If your Xerox Phaser 6360 has either garbled characters, inverted or upside down display, or no display, the control panel is most likely bad and must be replaced. Here's a video on how to do it and where to get it. Hope it helps!

Follow the keystrokes set out below, do not worry about what is on the display unless stated to check. All letters referred to are for the keys on the alpha key pad to the right of the control panel, under the plastic flap.

1st option: Press down arrow, *, #, ok, 1, ok, stop (red button),
Press down arrow, #, T.
The machine returns to the error code. Switch the machine off for 10 seconds, switch
back on. If successful the machine will warm up and come ready.
Press down arrow, *, #, 0 (ZERO), ok, stop.

2nd option
Press down arrow, *, #, ok, 1, ok, stop.
Press down arrow, #, look on the display, press up arrow until "T>>PRINTER" is
displayed. Press ok. The machine returns to the error code. Switch the machine off for 10
seconds, switch it back on. If successful the machine will warm up and come ready.
Press down arrow, *, #, ok, 0 (ZERO), ok, stop.
If this is a recurring problem the firmware on the board may need to be upgraded, or there
is a physical fault with the fuser unit. Low voltage / power surges in the supply power to
the machine may also play a part in the occurrence of the error.
The firmware needs to be version 1.10.

To check the firmware version do the following:
Press down arrow, *, #, ok, 1, ok, stop.
Press down arrow, *, W
Firmware version is displayed. Press stop to clear screen.
Press down arrow, *, #, ok, 0 (ZERO), ok, stop.
5401:
Press down arrow, *, #, ok, 1, ok, stop
Press *
The trace lists will be printed, firmware version is after PRT, as in example below.
In this example, the printer firmware is: PRT V 1.5
It is older than V 1.10 and the printer firmware need to be upgraded.njk

8860 wont send or recieve fax on cable modem

Fax machines usually only work over regular phone lines, not through digital cable or DSL systems. If your phone is a VOIP phone, it is a digital system and your fax will not work. It needs to be plugged into the Plain Old Telephone System (POTS) which is an analog system.

Display shows RAM ERROR on Xerox Phaser 8860

I would first try to inspect and possibly replace the ram. On the back of the machine there are two thumb screws holding on a metal plate. Remove the two screws to access the ram. You can remove the ram and try the second ram slot if it is unused. (check the video at 2:45 to see what this looks like) If after replacing the ram and trying both ram slots the error continues you most likely need to replace the Electronics module (MFP part# 084K36560, non-mfp part# 084K36550). Here is a video that shows you how to replace that part. (video is of a 8500 non-mfp version so it is a little different but still similar). Good luck, and thanks for using FixYa!

Xerox Phaser 6180 MFP-D password

The default password is "00000" If this password does not work you can follow the following to reset it:
  1. Power OFF the machine using the power switch located on the right side of the machine, toward the back. Press the power switch to the (O) position.

  2. Press and hold the [OK] button on the Control Panel.
  3. Continue to hold the [OK] button and power ON the machine. Keep the [OK] button held down until the Ready screen is displayed. The password is now reset to the default Control Panel password, which is 00000.

    NOTE: There will be no confirmation message during or after the machine's power on sequence. However, if the procedure was performed correctly, the password has been reset.

Xerox Phaser 8860 printer is displaying 12.1 error message, what does that mean

12 codes on that machine mean a software error.
You can try removing and reseating the RAM chips , most likely its corrupted and will require a software install. The software ( Firmware) would be found at xeox.com, Click on drivers and downloads, then type in 8860 in the search box then click to drivers and downloads again and scroll down to firmware.

Xerox phaser 6180 mfp error code 133-290

Before attempting to resolve the error 133. -290, print a copy of the configuration report on the copier / fax. Use the navigation on the front panel to access the configuration menu to get the impression. Review printing to make sure it understands the network settings. This is a protection against configuration settings being lost when you troubleshoot.
Clearing Memory reset the memory of the Xerox Phaser 6180MFP, Dell 3110cn or Dell Machine 3115cn to erase the stored contents and eliminate corrupted data. Disconnect the analog line and power cord from the printer. Wait at least 10 minutes. Then reconnect the analog line and the power cord. As the machine starts, press the "All Clear" "Stop" buttons to prevent automatic printing of the status page. Check the error display panel 133 to 290 times the machine is fully initialized.
