Dog chewed thru wiring harness, need a wiring diagram for a troy bilt lawn tractor in order to repair, or am I going to be stuck having to buy a new harness

I would first look under the machine, check the wires leading to the pto clutch. There should be a connector/plug, make sure it is clean and plugged in completely. Also, check the wire harness grounds to the frame. Otherwise, you'll have to check the switch, power going to the switch etc. Usually, they are wired thru the safety switch harness so, could be a bad saftey switch, or bad pto switch. You'll just have to start testing wiring.

If you are going to replace them yourself, you can go to www.jackssmallengines.com and should be able the look up the parts diagram by model # and order then on their web sight.

sounds like the trnns has some thing lose in it you will need to get to the shop

Is belt routed correctly.
Check pulleys for wear and if they spin freely
Check belt tension. Lack of sufficient tension will throw belt and destroy it

you need to screw the transmision adjustment in so that it is push all the way in to gear.
