Pull out the water collection tray. You will see a small pipe (about 1/2" diameter) in the top of the area where the tray came from. This is the "drain" that fills the tray. Connect a hose to this pipe and run the hose to a floor drain if you have one. I used a section from an old garden hose for my unit. There also may be a small opening in the back wall of the dehumidifier to route the hose more aesthetically.

Does not drain water from hose

Most have a hose connection on the bucket, you might need to drill or cut out where hose goes on to let it drain through it.

I have a hamptom bay dehumidifer model # HB40-D i am looking for the tray that you attach a hose to drain

it should be in the same area where you pull the pan out to dump. There should be a hose hook up inside the space where the drain box is.

Where do you find replacement parts when they are discontinued? I need a regulator for my dehumidifer a7dh45b2.

Fedders also made identical dehumidifiers for Maytag. Their model numbers are almost identical, and their parts are the same. So, try finding the parts you need thru Maytag.

How to hook up a drain tube to the pan in the dehumidifer. Do I need to take out the float shutoff?

No, it is not necessary to remove the float shutoff. As water will be constantly draining from the unit, when the hose is connected.

Hope this helped you.

Why does my bucket fill when I have connected a continuous feed hose for discharge? The hose does not seem to empty the humidifier.

Check to make sure the drain hole connection on the Dehumidifer's reservoir, that you have the hose hooked to, isn't plugged.

Also, you might want to see if the hose connection on the reservoir, still has the "knock out plug" still in place. Look at the hose connection on the reservoir, and if you can't see through it, or put a screwdriver through it, you need to punch it out the middle with a screwdriver. Open up the hole as much as you can so it will drain into and through your hose.

Check your hose also, as it might be plugged, disconnect it and blow through one end to make sure the water can flow through it.

Those are the only three things that could be preventing it from draining out the reservoir, through the hose connection, and through the hose to your drain.

Hope you find this Very Helpful and best regards!

Uggg, mine did not come with the drain hose. Any ideas?

I have the same model and bought a clear plastic hose at Home Depot, and drain it into a nearby bathtub. I don't have the size handy but just measure the diameter of the hose fitting, and make sure the hose has an inside diameter to match. Some stores sell hose by the foot; I bought a prepackaged roll.

Drain problem

I have the same problem and after talking (mostly waiting) with Fedders repair, I have been told how to solve the problem. Plug up the drain hole on the right side (the one not connected to the drain hose). The drain hole extends down about 5mm, outside measures 10mm and interior measures 7mm. They do come with a drain hold cover. Not a replaceable part with a number. Off to the hardware store.
