Just buy a new one. If it broke it did so for a reason: it's old and worn out, probably cracking and weakening as well. If you try to reuse the old one it may not play right (slipping, etc.)

You can get replacements at Radio Shack or at stereo stores, or even online. Not that expensive.

Drive belt for turntable has broken, can I buy a new one and are there instructions on how to install it? Judy Petre.

Question edited to remove email address.33 million people have seen it, so fingers crossed.

Yes you can. But there are quite a few drive belt turntables made since the 1950s!

They are all very easy to replace.

The turntable isn't turning on one of our units and the cassette player isn't working on another. Where can they be fixed? Just bought needles for both.

My turntable quit and I found out it had a broken drive belt. Mine was easy to get into but can't buy a new one They don't make mine any more. I suspect your player could have a broken belt as well. I put mine in the garbage. No parts and going to cost more than new to repair.

My Pioneer PL-112D turntable has a broken drivebelt, is it possible to buy a new one, and is there a diagram showing the belt "routing". Thanks.

I don't believe this belt is being provided by the Pioneer. So I did find another option at a reasonable price on E-bay.

My turntable speed is too slow. I have the optimus lab 1000 and there are speed adjustments on the bottom side of the unit but turning these either for 45 or 33 rpm did not change results. I have already...

Look under the platter or on the bottom of the turntable. There should be two adjustment holes for 45 and 33. You will need a small screwdriver for adjusting these. If this does not work clean the control pots with spray cleaner.

Optimus 1000 belt drive automatic turntable

Usually, for most turntables, the belt goes on the bottom of the platter first. Then you put the platter back on the turntable. From here you should see an opening on the platter where you can 'grab' the belt. Pinch the belt, and then wrap it around the rotating motor's shaft. This is usually at the top left side - around the 10 o'clock position.
