Dishwasher fills and heats water, but doesn't wash.

Same problem as was already posted. My Whirlpool Quiet Partner dishwasher will fill with water, heat the water, but then doesn't run the wash cycle, no spinning or spraying. We noticed the unit was getting louder during the wash cycle which leads me to think a drive belt was slipping (if there is one), or the motor bearings are shot. I'd like to try fixing it myself, but would like to know where to start. Any suggestions and a downloadable schematic would be great.

Thanks,
Lance

DU945PWPB2 Whirlpool dishwasher won't start. The light for "Normal" wash comes on but the "start" light won't come on and the washer won't run. I have replaced the thermal switch already and it didn't fix the problem. Any suggestions?

To tell you the truth, I don't even know what model my Whirlpool is. However, I had this same issue. My dishwasher would fill, but it wouldn't spray the water. I could hear it hum, but the motor wasn't going.

After no success finding any ideas online, I had to call out the repairman. Well, 5 minutes and $109 later it was just a simple matter of the motor being stuck. Apparently this is a common issue with GE, but not as common with Whirlpool. Just a seal that gets stuck if you don't use it for awhile (even though there hadn't been any long stretch for me). He reached in/under and turned the motor a bit over a half rotation before it broke loose. It fired up... I wrote the check ... and he left.

He advised me to run the washer on the rinse cycle at least once a week.

Hope that helps someone.

I removed the bottom cover, make sure that the dishwater was off, turned to motor blade with a screwdriver clockwise (I saw an arrow and figured that that was the direction to turn the blade). After a small tug, the motor then moved freely). Powered the dishwasher and it worked like a charm.

I disassembled the bottom spray arm assembly to find a piece of chicken bone wedged against the motor gear. There was also lots of food debris lodged in every crevasse One main hole in the spay arm had paper lodged in it. So it was beneficial to do the extensive cleaning.
The dishwasher fired right up after I put all pieces back together.

My 6 year old Whirlpool dishwasher is loud

This is a bad wash pump. Looking at about $175 for just the sump assembly. You could do it yourself, but unit would need to be uninstalled.

I have the Whirlpool Quiet Partner 1 the wash cycle starts and about 20 Min.'s into it the clean light starts flashing or the the start light, one or the other each time and it wont dry the dish's anymore...

If the clean light blinks 7 times thats you heating circuit. Test the heater with an ohm meeting to see if it has open. If so order the heater kit and it comes with the control board.

Whirlpool Quiet Partner II not washing or sensing.

I have a whirlpool quiet partner II and for some reason it does not drain the water out any more and I cannot figure out why....people say that it is the filter but that is unbelievably hard to get to and I cannot find any instructions online or paper work that tells how to break it down. If anyone has any insight please let me know

Whirlpool Quiet Partner 2

More likely: the solenoid which directs the water to either the drain or the spray arm is clogged/jammed. Located underneath near the drain line.
