Freezing and crashing my wifi

MSI GT780DXR keeps freezing and once it releases, wifi stops working. It's connected to my router but says no internet connection. Doesn't happen when I have the turbo boost turned on but keeping turbo on heats up the laptop to about 80C

SOURCE: wifi is saying limited or no connectivity

Hello Rifaaqat,

Ok this could be several things, but lets list them in order and if you follow these instructions you should be able to connect ok.

To start.....

First check to see if there is any wireless secuirty on your router and if so, set the secuity to NONE and while your at it, change the channel on the router (IF you can... dont worry if you cant as not all routers are easy to change chanel) plus if there is a friewall or anti-virus enabled (EITHER on your computer OR on the router) then disable it.

IF THAT DOES NOT HELP.......

Second...

From you CONTROL PANEL click on “Network Connections” then click your connection.

Next RIGHT CLICK on the connection it shows you and a pop-up window will appear. Choose PROPERTIES.

That will open a "Local Area Connection properties" window. You will find a box showing different icons look for the one which says Internet protocol (TCP/IP). When you have found it highlight this and click on the property button below.

A new window "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Properties" will appear from this window and you have to make sure that the following options are selected:

1."Obtain an IP address Automatically"
2. "Obtain DNS server address Automatically"

If they are NOT selected then select them and then click OK.
It will now take you back to the previous window again click apply, OK and close.

Reboot your computer and you should be good to connect.

As a final note, if your having any problems accessing your routers on-line interface remember that the defualt username and password for logining in to it is normally set to “admin” and “safecom”

Hope that helps you, so please leave a rating so I know if it has.

Good luck.

SOURCE: wireless stopped working on my msi laptop

No Wireless Connection Found in Range

Note: You need to use a computer hardwired to the router to check the wireless settings.

1. Please open any web browser like Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator.
2. Connect to the router by typing http://routerlogin.com/basicsetting.htm or http://192.168.1.1 in the address field and click Enter or Return key.
3. A window will prompt for a user name and password. The default username is "admin" and the default password is "password".

Note: If it does not take password as the password, you might have changed it when you have run the NETGEAR Setup CD so please try other passwords. If you cannot remember the password, you need to reset the router and run the Setup CD to reconfigure it.

4. Click the Wireless Settings under Advanced tab.
5. Check the box under Enable Wireless Router Radio and Enable Wireless SSID Broadcast.
6. Click the Wireless Settings under Setup.
7. Change Channel (recommended are 1, 6 and 11).
8. Change the SSID to uniquely identify your network. You might have a similar SSID with your neighbor.

Note: Do not change the SSID if there are already other wireless computers that can connect to the network.

Other factors that you may consider when you are not able to view any available wireless network:

a. Switch for the wireless adapter is turned off
b. Distance between the wireless router and computer
c. Possible wireless interferences

Netgear wifi router

1) does it lock up completely or will it work hard lined when wifi fails?
2) do all devices wireless fail or just a single device?
3) do you lose connection to the wireless completely or keep the connection but lose access to the internet? (confusing but very different to me)

in the end you could narrow down the problem but if you have already reset to factory defaults and set back up again and again then it may be time to retire that old router.

I have a new MSI wind U135 netbook that cant load webpages on either Internet Exporer or Mozzilla firefox. It runs windows 7 starter. I have trouble shooted the problem and it usually comes up saying that...

To me, this sounds like an issue with the wireless router. To verify this, have another laptop connected at the same time and see if it experiences the same issue. If it does, then I would suggest logging into your router and preforming a firmware upgrade. If the problem is isolated to your MSI wind, I would check the MSI website see if there is an updated wifi driver. Hope that helped.

Can connect to my laptop wirelessly but internet (router msi rg60

There may be two reason here.
1. If there is any securities like Norton, Macafee, web root which is stopping it again and again. Please unintall these securities once and reinstall them again.
2. Else, it may be an issue with Router. You can disable the security of the router once and check it. or you can reset your router once.
3.Also, scan your computer with malwarebytes. http://www.malwarebytes.org/

Ipod touch - wireless connect to my MSI RG54g2 router

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Initially, to your queries:
  • instruction book - pls click here;
  • passwords - open a browser, the MSI RG54G2 web interface is 192.168.1.254, password is "admin", less the quotes;
  • iPod touch - will auto detect your MSI
  • setting on my router - if allows your computer(s) to access the Internet, no further settings required;
  • iPod can connect to the internet - if no WEP or WPA is set on the MSI router.
This is of course assuming that the MSI RG54G2 is allowing your computers to access the Internet lready and will be shared to the iPod Touch.

Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa. Happy Holidays.

Msi rg54g3 wireless router

Cable modem or DSL? If cable modem without phone service, modem power has to be unplugged 2 minutes before the router is connected in order to release the mac address from memory. If cable modem with phone service, same thing applies, but battery backup must also be disconnected.
DSL modem may require PPPoE setup into router.
