SOURCE: Open Hood warning, and wiper blades.
There is a switch on your hood latch. They get damaged sometimes when the hood opens and closes. look down on the latch and you will see the sensor with an electrical plug. There are two 10mm bolts holding the latch in. remove them and the sensor is in the latch.

I had the exact same problem, went to the Mercedes dealer and they fixed it for free with a pair of pliers. They just pulled up the metal clips and turned them back into place.

This is caused by a problem with the BCM (body control module), do the following, if that doesn't reset the BCM then u will need to have the dealer replace and program a new BCM.
Open your hood and look for the fuse and relay center just above the battery. Open the cover and look for a fuse called IOD and/or Memory IOD. It usually located away from the front (towards the top of the block) in the center, they are labeled . Remove the IOD fuse for 20 seconds and then reinsert. The BCM becomes hung and this will reset it in a lot of cases. Let us know how it works out
