Screen has blacked out no picture

These TVs do not have a tube, You get tubes in CRT TVs only!

It could be the backlight screen inverter PCB has gone, to test if you shine a torch light at the screen with the TV on and can see a faint picture then it is probably the inverter.

Sounds like either the CCFL tube (like a mini florescent tube) or the inverter that powers it has blown.

Sounds like you have lost video somewhere in the video circuits. Possibly the picture tube could have gone bad or lost filiament voltage.
You can check to see if you have high voltage by holding your bare arm close to the screen. The hairs will stand up if you have high voltage. Absence of high voltage will also cause a black screen,but the sound might not work either since on some sets the power for the sound is supplied from the same circuit as
the high voltage.

That is a common issue with the last generation of the phillips big screens, the best answer for this is one that i got at a meeting with phillips service several years ago. On philips the tv will not show a picture till the tubes are balanced out, simular to sony, but in a phillips if the white balance is not correct the picture and sound will be muted till all three tubes have warmed up enough to produce a good white balance. As the set ages the tubes become weaker and this procesess takes longer.

Ur high voltage is dead.The FBT the Flyback transformer not prodeucing high voltage.The big black block of plastic with a red wire with a cap hook to the CRT(tv tube).The FBT,must replaced to solved this problem.

it sounds like a resistor has gone bad that controls the tubes for the picture.you might want to call a service tech in and have it fixed,

when problems occures with monitor is always with picture tube but some time less brightness is also reason for black screen
check brightness of your system i think it should be on maximum level and brightness is perfact so i said problem with picture tube. may be picture tube is gone...

sitnlisten - yes it does appear your pix tube is getting weak,but we may be able to turn up the flyback alittle to brighten up the picture.If you take the back off you will see the flyback-large black unit with a wire going to the round rubber cap on the back of the pix tube.Look at the flyback there are usually 2 adjusters one marked focus the other screen,just turn up the screen a little bit at a time.If you turn this up too much you will wind up with retrace lines on the screen.You may also want to check the pcboard ass'y for a sub bright adjust,and same thing small adjustments.If this don't help your pix tube may be too far gone.I hope this helps. cooltek Feb.1/08
