F30 ERR message on Frigidaire Professional Series Range

I have a Frigidaire Professional Series Range. MOD.PLES389ECE. Whenever I try to turn on the oven or clean it, I get the F30 ERR message. The clock, timer, and stovetop work fine. I ordered a new temp probe from Sears and installed but I still get the message. Techs around here say I need a new computer but it is non-refundable so I want to make sure before I order.

I am a tech and just had this happen to me, so I can feel your frustration. I have replaced the temp probe, erc, and still had the problem.
Open the back, with the unit unplugged. On the lower right hand side there is a relay, beside the relay there is a "safety T-stat" disconnect from the circuit by removing one wire and read for continuity. If none is detected, replace t-stat and voila... stove works. Much cheaper than erc and probe...

    any luck?

  • Anonymous Jan 03, 2013

Having the same error message on our PLES389ECE. We've replaced the probe and the motherboard. Even tried a second motherboard because we were told ithe new one had to be bad. The stovetop works fine. The clock will count up from 12:00 each time we reset it, but will not let us set correct time. Any ideas?

I cant get my oven to stay on model # FFEF3015LSM after a few minutes is turning oven on, it starts to beep and screen says F30

It looks like the probe is the same as the temperature sensor.

On some models, you can recalibrate the oven control up to 35 degrees Fahrenheit higher or lower. Refer to your owner's manual for instructions on how to recalibrate the oven control.

Since you're getting an error message the following may apply:

OPEN PROBE CONNECTION
1. (F30 or F31) Check resistance at room temperature & compare to RTD Sensor resistance chart. If resistance does not match the RTD chart replace RTD Sensor Probe. Check Sensor wiring harness between EOC & Sensor Probe connector.

SHORTED PROBE CONNECTION
2. (F30 or F31) Check resistance at room temperature, if less than 500 ohms, replace RTD Sensor Probe. Check for shorted Sensor Probe harness between EOC & Probe connector. .

I HAVE A F30 ERR DISPLAY ON BOARD AND THE DOOR IS LOCKED. HOW DO I RESET AND GET DOOR OPEN?

Hello Friend, this is Z. I am happy to assist you!

If you are getting an error code F30 on your Frigidaire range, it usually indicates an issue with a faulty sensor probe or a wiring harness between the sensor probe and EOC (Electronic Oven Control). You may try and reset your range by disconnecting the power or by flipping the circuit breaker off and back on after 10 minutes. This often clears most false error code. If the error code does not clear, most likely the EOC of your range will need replacing. I am fairly confident that an authorized service agent will be able to restore your appliance to its normal operating condition. You can often locate a qualified service technician on the manufacturer website.

F30 err flashes on the board. Can't get it to bake or oven to come on.

If your oven is made by Frigidaire, the F30 error indicates a problem with the temperature sensor, wiring, the controller or the thermal reset. You will need to check the resistance at various points and replace parts as needed. There are actually 3 sensors in series on one model, with the reset switch under the sensor near the 12" burner. On this model the resistance across each sensor should be around 1100 ohms.

Please add a comment with the make and model for more information on finding the sensors.

Cfef 372ec4 Frigidaire f 30 problem

Hi - Typically error code F30 for Frigidaire range indicates an issue with the sensor probe or the wiring harness between sensor probe and EOC. If you have already changed the sensor, I suggest checking the wiring or contacting a professional to move forward accurately. You can try resetting the unit and see if the error code will clear. You can either unplug the unit or flip the household circuit breaker off. Wait approximately ten minutes and turn on the range. If issue continues, once again contact a professional to properly diagnose the unit.

My stainless frigidaire professional series electric stove oven door is locked...i did not self clean it, but it is locked somehow...if i hold either the lock button, or the clear/off button for 15 seconds...

F1 is an EOC (electronic oven control) failure. The control is expensive. But before you go and buy this board, you need to find a diagram to see of this model oven lock is controlled by the EOC or by a micro switch. If you have a lock button on the board the you have to replace the EOC.

Kenmore Elite made by Frigidaire 30" slide in electric range model # 790.46603501 shows F30 ERR. Oven will not work. Range top is fine. Help!!! Turkey to cook!! Lynne

The F30 error code indicates that the electronic oven control board detects an "open" oven temperature sensor probe circuit.
This is usually caused by a failed oven temperature sensor probe.

Replacing this component will likely fix your problem.

You can order this part from www.searspartsdirect.com website.

If you replace this part yourself, be sure that you unplug the range to disconnect electrical power before accessing this component.

On some models, you can replace the probe by removing the screws that mount this component to the inside back wall of the oven.
Carefully pull the probe inside the oven cavity until you encounter the wire harness disconnect plug.
Unplug the sensor and replace it with the new one. Mount the new probe on the back wall of the oven.

On some models, you have to remove the lower back oven panel to access the sensor probe.

If you replace the probe and still have this problem, you will need to unplug the range and measure the resistance through the violet wires that plug into the control board (this is where the sensor probe circuit is connected to the control board).
If the resistance through the oven temperature sensor probe circuit is normal (about 1100 ohms at room temperature) then the electronic oven control board will need to be replaced.
