My Mitsubishi Diamond 55 inch tv just went black and then the red power light blinked, when I went to manually turn it back on, it did not come on at all...is it able to be reset or fixed?

lindapuzino0,

I have relatively bad news for you. Your model has known issues witht the DM board and power supply board. Mitsubishi has no spares and their repair incentive has ended. I have a tip at http://www.fixya.com/support/r7065906-mitsubishi_turn_flashing_power_timer which explains the problem and where to get a kit which could possibly repair your unit if you think you have the technical skills.

Thanks for using FixYa and for the great rating. Please consider a testimonial. Thank you.

THE GREEN LIGHT IS BLINKING ALL THE TIME

You have the one that the capacitors go bad on, this set is the most complicated set to work on call the pro's but expect as heafty bill, the chassis has to be pulled out and sent into Mitsubishi for a rebuild.

Power Loss

You will find 4 swollen capacitors in the DM module of value 1000uF 16volt. Replace them.

Mitsubishi WS- 65809 65 INCH

If your TV is not powering on you probably blew the power supply. These TV are sensitive to power surges. Be sure to use a power strip with power filtering technology (different from a surge protector) costing around $80.00

Sounds like your control unit has going down. its the big silver box in the rear to the left of the set.

Can't turn on the TV. Green light keeps blinking.

You need to change the four capacitors C9B01,C9B02,C9B10,C9B11 all 1000 MFD 16 VOLT (on the DM board which is inside the metal shield standing upright on the left looking from the back of the set)The tops of the capacitors will look puffed out making them easy to find. This is your HD tuner digital board which is trying to reboot but can't - when the green light stops blinking after a minute, than you can power on your TV.
