mcdevito75 here, Do you also have to re-set the mouse?? Refer to the instruction manual for info. Also does the mouse take a battery?? Call or visit Leap Frog online for more info.

Hello I will try to help you. If the pen was working up until the batteries died then the problem logically would be solved by putting in new batteries. That said, remove the "new" batteries and install them in another device to be sure that they are good. Some new batteries die in the package before being used.

Then make sure you are putting the batteries in correctly, pay attention to the + and -.

Finally, you can clean the ends of the battery chamber by using a pencil eraser and rubbing it on the metal contacts.

Let me know if one of these things fixes your problem as I have additional ideas.

i think you should ask your daughter if she put passwords to lock the DVD.if not then its compatibility issue.i mean its not compatible or manufacturer encoded passwords to avoid piracy.

In the battery compartment to the cosole there is a switch, one is for the US. switch the lever to this side and it should work fine

I bought my son a click start for Christmas and after about 10 days we had this problem as well. If you remove the back plate where the mouse plugs into the keyboard and sort of wiggle and push the cord inward and then replace the plate cover the mouse should work again. I have had to do this several times, which is kind of annoying, but I suppose it's worth it since my son really loves the toy.

I purchased a Leapfrog Leapster in end of June sales last year for my daughter's birthday in October 2008. When she first turned it on it froze but after restarting played fine for 2 hrs then died and refused to work again. Fortunately I had kept my receipt (Target) but was still worried about it having been 4 months prior. They ended up giving me a store credit as they no more in stock at that store and I picked one up from another Target without having to pay the difference between my original sale price. I know you don't have the receipt but you could contact the place of purchase and ask them even if they are able to send off for repairs or put you in contact with the right people. I took the entire toy back to the store where I purchased it and exchanged it for a new one.
