SOURCE: Black particles in clothes after using a top loading samsung fully automatic washing machine

You said these particles stick to the clothes, do they come off and then leave a stain? It may be grease or oil coming from a leaking drum bearing seal.
If it is, This is a major repair and not one for DIY.

SOURCE: Washer not cleaning clothes

The filter on your pump is probably clogged with lint and stuff. You have to remove the bottom front panel, 3 torx screws underneath. The panel will drop and come off. Drain off the excess water from the drain pipe you see. The white filter cover is right in front. Get yourself a good plastic bag to collect water. Unscrew the filter cover and twist the filter out. Clean out all the stuff and put it back in carefully.
On some models the filter is located ‘inside’ the big hose from the bottom of the tub. This takes more time to clean.

Next run your washer with 2 cups of bleach, hot water. After it starts agitating stop the washer & let it remain for 2 hours. Then continue the wash.

SOURCE: white residue om dark clothes

Even if you use liquid detergent, if you put too many clothes in the washer, or too much detergent. It has happened to me before.

SOURCE: clothes are left with a residue on them. I use

Do you use a liquid fabric softner also ? Marks are usually left on clothes from undisolved fabric softner . Try using dryer sheets instead of washer softner .

My Electrolux eco valve started making a huge noise when it was spinning and some of the clothes came out with black spots on them

1) It could be that the washing machine drum has collected greasy residue from previous loads. Try cleaning the drum by running an empty cycle with a cupful of white vinegar.

2) Or could be the bearings. When bearings are on the way out they leave streaky dark marks on the clothes.

My Frigidaire FTF530FS Front Load Washer appears to be leaking oil and it is getting on my clothes

Hello Loree Grudem - This can be the result of the shaft bearing and seal. They may have become worn and the transmission oil is creeping up to get in your water. Once this happens, it gets on your clothes to cause staining. Or possibly you have a buildup of fabric softener that comes loose and puts a greasy like substance in your water and on your clothing. Once you put your clothes in the dryer and the old fabric softener melts you will see these spots. I suggest contacting a professional to move forward accurately.

Hi! We bought our WM2455H washer on February 1/2009 from Best Buy. Suddenly on several washes my clothes become spotted with brown grease. It does not occur at every wash, but what is happening. Please...

Do a tub clean cycle. Hottest water, no clothes, cup of bleach in washer, fill bleach dispenser with bleach, fill softener with bleach. Run once or twice. The 'grease' is actually residue from liquid detergent and/or softener. So stop using liquid detergent and switch to powdered (no residue believe it or not). Use plain white vinegar in place of softener. The acid eliminates the mildew residue and also helps get detergent residue out of your clothes. Good luck.

White residue on dark clothes

What you probably have is a build-up of scrud in the machine as a result of an interaction between the fabric softener and the detergent. This flakes off and marks the clothing.
Buy a commercially available cleaner for your machine for this purpose of do one or two cycles using a bottle of white vinegar in the tub without detergent. Clean the machine out doing another cycle using baking soda directly in the drum. Repeat this process if there are still any indications of scrud.
Take care that you use the correct amount of detergent in your machine according to load and water level and do a cleaning run about every 25 wash cycles to clear away any excess detergent that was not caught by the rinse.

White residue on black clothing

I am sure you did not wash dark clothes with white, right?

How old is the washing machine?
Do you feel/see any white particles in the basket of the machine, when the cover is open, and it dries out inside?-- when you wipe your hand inside (the dry machine), do you pick up white residue?

What type of soaps are you using?-- any chance they could be causing the residue?

How hard is your water? (Do you have a water softener in the water system?

Please tell us more about your circumstances.

Leaves white clothes gray

Many of the machines are having a similar issue I am trying to find a resolution to fixing this, there are two issues. First Whirlpool has just recently identified a problem with premature bleach dispensing. Another dispensing problem I had is that fabric softener had to be diluted otherwise it would not wash out of the dispenser. And finally, the fabric softener dispenser would still hold a small amount of water after the wash cycle completed.Removing the top of some washers I have found that there is often a lot of stainless steel polish residue around the rim of the machine - which should have been cleaned away before the machine was shipped from Whirlpool. The gray, oily residue was not visible without removing the top of the washer. Knowing now what has caused the dark gray streaks on many peoples laundry.

Lint or soap residue

Sounds more like a build-up of particles that may very well be in the water supply. There is something that you can try to get rid of these particles.

1. With the machine empty start it in normal eash mode and let it fill. Add 1/2 cup bleach to the water and let the machine run completely through the wash cycle. This will help remove any unseen stains or build-up.

2. When the machine drains and begins to refill on the next cycle, add 1/2-1 cup of white vinegar and again, let the machine finish its' cycle.

3. Run the machine through the wash cycle one more time to remove any vinegar that may have been left behind.

This is not a guaranteed method but I have had some success.
