My DSL filter had gone "bad" I needed to replace the inline filter.

The suggestion was also to move the base unit away from the kitchen area because of all the technology that I had happening in one area.

When programing our incoming phone message this is a lot of static on the message which makes the message hard to hear. How do we correct this issue?

Cordless land line phone:

  • If it is possible to set the greeting from the base speaker phone, use that.
  • If the base does not have a VOX speaker, move the handset and the base away from anything that emits elelctro magnetic RF...like wifi access points, microwaves, etc and set the greeting.
Cell Phone:

  • Avoid using the handset to set the voice greeting unless your handset supports a visual voicemail service that captures the audio greeting first and then sends the audio file over the IP.
  • Call your cellphone# from a landline, hit # or * and your PIN, and access the greeting menu from there.
  • If your cellphone and carrier support Wifi calls, VoLTE or Packet switched voice service, set your handset up for hat feature. On an iPhone it looks like this:

Rogers problems

This has become a growing problem:
  • As land lines have been reclaimed or replaced in the phone company networks;
  • As the growing older population has lost hearing sensitivity.
  • Because secondary carriers don't always receive the best or least crowded connectons (especially in case of residential versus business which pay more for service).
If you are getting static and cross talk (hearing radio or other people's converstations) notify the phone company and you will probably provided a new connection.

IF the problem is persistent without such interference, consider an amplified phone--some states (California for instance under Federal auspices) makes such equipment available free to hearing impaired. Also check the quality of your household wiring and connections.

Check with you neighbors--if they don't have the same problems, complain to the phone company. If they do, complain together.

Finally, some phones are simply too poor in quality to provide good sound. You might want to upgrade: either the phone set or its line or handset cord.

I guess this has something to do with the status of your bandwidth. It might be that your incoming bandwidth is congested and it's not able to handle incoming voice traffic.
To verify if it's a bandwidth issue please visit this site to check your upload and download speeds.
Hope this helps . . .

I have a KX-TG 1034 model..I have a lot of static, and no matter what I do,I can't get the sound louder for incoming calls..also what is a DSL provider?? Thanks

First, you are getting your HS Internet via a Digital Subscriber Line (DSL).
You need a lowpass inline filter to between the telephone jack and the phone base. The phone line carries both the high freq. computer signal (the ADSL) and your low freq voice. W/o the filter all you hear is a roar.

I had the poor voice quality problem by having the Panasonic base too close to my computer and or screen. What solved that was running an extension cord from the online filter to the Panasonic base.

Two people can't talk on the three cordless phones at once

Owner's Manual, page 19, explains that only one handset can be used for incoming calls. So if you are upstairs with a handset and someone answers the other handset downstairs, your call will be cancelled if you attempt to use your upstairs handset. Very inconvenient and have returned and exchanged for another brand.
