A flickering TV screen that will blink can sometimes be fixed by simply turning off the TV and turning the TV back on. A component attached to the TV could be at fault. Cables might not be secure properly or be connect properly or a cable could be faulty. Check to see if your TV has an energy efficiency feature that can be causing the issue.Or the Screen is starting to go bad and needs to be replaced.Or your TV is starting to not work anymore.
Most of the time, that cause of that flickering screen is a defective LCD flex cable or sometimes called LVDS cable (this is the cable that attaches the LCD panel to the motherboard - it can be caused by a loose connection or simply, it just may have worn out due to opening/closing the lid). The only way to fix that is to replace disassemble the computer and check if there's a loose connection on that LCD cable. If disconnecting / reconnecting the LCD cable doesn't fix the issue, you might need to replace it Disassmebly guides can be found here.
This is a convergence problem and not really a DIY Many amateurs try it to save money but end up spending more on it than a professional. There are dozens on here that managed to fix it for a day or two only to have it fail again.
My experience has been that the resistors have fallen out of range. These aren't expensive and neither are the caps that surround this area. If you're pulling the board out to change the resistors, might as well change the caps, too. If you're strapped for cash, but have a multi-meter, you can test the caps and the resistors after they've been taken out of circuit to save a little green. It is most likely the connector between the screen and the motherboard that is loose/failing. I would check that first, before taking it in for repairs..
Same with mine a couple days ago. I've been told the contacts have oxidized and need to be cleaned. It was going to cost about $80 to fix and no guarantee how long it would last so I just bought a new monitor.
