Try pulling out winder to time setting mode and press your chrono button until it advances to the 12 then push winder back in

Try this.

Pull the winder out fully. Then press the top right chronograph button to move the centre seconds hand on. Then push the winder back in.

on some models you should only pull the winder half way out.

The small seconds hand do not stop because it has nothing to do with chronometer. It is ordinary seconds counter and will move independent of chronometer.Click on my profile (escapement), then click on Tips and Tricks. There you will find link to Tag Heuer watch manuals. have an expert reset it by rewinding it

That's right, nothing will hold that button in place as clipspring has fallen off or broke and retains inside the watch. Do not wind or wear your watch now as that clipspring is freely floating inside movement and can damage your watch geartrain.
Find your nearest watch repair shop and ask to refit button with clipspring. Watchmaker will know how to do the job and how to get rid of any broken remains if there are any.

I'm not sure this will help, but try to reset the watch completely. Use users manual how to do that.
Sometimes it does the job.

Pull crown out to position 2 [in between unscrewed (1) and pulled all the way out (3)].  Tap Button B (bottom) to reset by step back to zero.
Incidentally, Button A works Hours register in same manner for position 2.  You can similarly reset second and 1/10th with Buttons A and B, respectively, while in position 3.  Cheers!
