Ib not recognisizing pics on sd card

Hey! I have to admit I am feeling my way about in the dark with technology which is embarrassing since I'm only 25... I have a olympus x-43 which I haven't actually used in over a year, but I do want to transfer the old pics (which I can still view via the camera) from it, onto my new laptop. I installed the programme ib and inserted the 4GB SDHC card. In the "My Computer" folder the sd card is being registered and displays that a portion of the memory capacity is being taken up. But, when I try to actually view the files so I can copy/paste it displays that the folder is empty. Similarly ib tells me that there is no new media to transfer. I have the sd card switched to unlock. What in gods name am I doing wrong?! K

Most digital cameras have a small internal memory and an expandable one (SD card). Are the pictures actually stored on the card or in camera memory? If on the card then I suggest a card reader device, if on the camera you need to connect the camera to your computer via its USB cable to access them, unless there is a way to transfer them to the memory card (not all cameras can do this).

SOURCE: camera memory card errors/computer doesn't recognize

Can you get a memory card reader that works for a Mac? If so then loading pic's to the 'puter through that route Flashing red and green lights have a meaning- what does the manual say?[Check the more comprehensive manual on the Software disk] You could buy[or borrow] another card- nothing wrong with having more that one. Also try the card in another camera and a fresh card in yours[Take it a photo shop to try this]

SOURCE: Copy camera images to memory card through camera

In the camera setup menu there should be a backup option that allows you to copy the images from the internal memory on to the xD picture card.

SOURCE: memory card cannot read by digital camera.

Sounds like you will need to format the memory card. This will permanently erase all the data from the card and then you will be able to use it again. To format the card: Press the Menu button - right arrow to Setup - go to format option- You will see format yes or no. Choose Yes and press ok. This will clear the write protect message and the card can be used again.

SOURCE: i have a SP-800UZ olympus

Can you view the pictures in the camera directly? Are the pictures on internal memory or on placed SD card? If the pictures are NOT shown within the camera or when you put in a SD card and your pictures are on internal memory... you can change the menu settings accordingly. If pictures are not shown in the camera, you might want to try the camera Data Repair option: Manual page 41. Check if the camera is seen by the computer as USB Removeable device. You can also manually transfer the pictures with e.g. the Windows Explorer.

How do I get pics of off camera when it has no sim card in it

The camera came with a CD. On it is the software you need to retrieve the pictures. But I don't think there are any on the camera, if you did not insert a memory card.
Perhaps one or two, but certainly not tons.
Before you use the USB cable (came with the camera too) to connect the camera to the computer, you have to install the software from the disk on your computer. After installing the software you can connect the camera and the computer will recognise the camera. First time give it a minute or so, because the computer needs to install and start a program.

I put ib a new SD card but the camera wont take a picture..It keeps saying...Internal memory is full

You need to get rid of the pics in the internal memory. With no card in the camera, go into the menu and find "format"...follow the on-screen instructions to erase the internal memory. Then, insert your card and it should work properly.

The pictures are in the internal memory? If so you need to purchase a memory card for that camera and transfer the internal memory pictures to the memory card and then you will be able to download them to the computer. Your camera takes a SD or a SDHC memory card make sure it's unlocked and formatted to the camera the instructions for formatting are in your manual
Here is a diagram to makes sure the switch on the SD card is in the unlock position

My ds not recognising the r4 card

Hey there,

Do you have the original R4 card? It's possible that your DS isn't recognising it because the original one (before the R4i and R4 SDHC came out etc) only accepts up to 2GB Micro-SD cards. You should check the size of the Micro-SD card you're using at the moment.

I recommend buying R4i cards / R4i DS cards from either dscardworld.com or nds-gear.com - probably nds-gear if you're in Canada or Europe since their international rates are a bit cheaper

Good luck!

I cant get my pics to go onto the memory card they seem to be going to the camera itself it will only hold 6 pics and I have a 4GB CARD. hOW DO i FIX THIS PROBLEM?

The problem is you are using a SDHC SD card (>2gb). They are not compatible with the a550. You need a 2gb or smaller standard SD card for it to recognise in the camera. Th epictures will then save onto it no problem.

Samsung Digimax 201 and INFINEON 128mB SD Card

Had a similar problem running windows XP, it couldn't read my sandisk SD card on a usb sandisk imagemate reader/writer. The solution on Microsoft's site was worthless, having already applied all XP patches. Fortunately, I tried accessing the SD card under windows 2000 and it worked fine, so I formatted the SD card in windows 2000 and now it works fine in XP.
