How to open to clean

Hello! The dirt cup, filter and brushes need to be cleaned to ensure continued cleaning effectiveness. Below are steps for cleaning your Hoover Slider.

Turn switch to OFF position.

1. Press button and slide latch towards outside of cleaner. Rotate dirt cup toward back of cleaner.

2. While holding dirt cup, grasp filter frame and lift out filter. Empty dirt cup after every use. Dirt cup can be cleaned with a damp cloth. Allow to dry thoroughly.

3. Pull middle section of filter out of filter frame. To remove debris from filter, tap it on a hard surface or brush it with a soft brush.

4. Remove lint, strings, etc. from the brush roll located on the underneath side of the nozzle.

5. Replace the brush roll when the brushes do not touch the edge of a card as it is moved across the opening on the bottom of the nozzle.
Further disassembly of the cleaner is not recommended. Hope this helps!

My Sebo hoover trips the house mains sockets every time I switch it on, yet doesn't trip the kitchen mains. Have replaced filters/bag to reduce load but still no good. What should I be investigating in the...

Hello,
It sounds like your vacuum is fine if it works when plugged in the kitchen outlet. It is tripping the breaker switch in the other room because the circuit is overloaded (too many things plugged in this circuit). Try unplugging some things in that room and try your vacuum again.
If it only trips when using one particular outlet, then the outlet should be replaced. I would recommend having an electrician check your wiring out.

Hope this helps

The hoover keeps switching on and off automatically.

Sounds to me like there is either a loose wiring in the pedal or mains power cord. Check that the plug is secure. Check both filters though - one behind the bag (usually square and slides out) as well as the main exhaust filter at the back between the power on and cord rewind button. I used to own many Telios models but they are known to have cheap shearing cords which can only be replaced by a Hoover repairer. Sometimes the On pedal can be affected as well particularly if it has been stamped on heavily.
Dont forget to rate, ty.

My hoover wind tunnel vaccum has a hepa filter that is supposed to be self cleaning but continues to plug up. it is not easy to get to and takes forever to clean it out so the suction is strong again.

do you have the SELF-CLEANING, rotating HEPA filter?

I just fixed my HEPA filter not rotating!!

It involves taking apart the vacuum HEPA area. All screws are the same size. There are a LOT of 'em. Really straightforward putting it back together too.

ok, once you take the HEPA canister area off the vacuum, careful with the wires! Unplug them from the controller board. You open up the HEPA chamber by removing more screws until you see where the motor that turns the filter is mounted on the side. Remove motor from the green chamber. Note where the washer goes. Once the motor is off, you'll see that the center hub that drives the HEPA filter is rounded out. What I did was jam little bits of aluminum from a pop can into the space between the circle and the square to force the walls back to square. I started by folding a little piece of aluminum over and over so it was about three layers thick. Jammed that in. That wasn't quite enough thickness so I shoved another piece with it. If you can find something that is about 4 times the thickness of a pop can aluminum, that'd probably work too. Slight wedge shape on the tip would help. Any sort of tiny shim.

To test your work, just put a couple of holder screws into the HEPA cannister housing, plug in the cover/switch, plug in the HEPA moter. Turn it on for a few seconds to make sure the filter turns. Then you can add more thickness to the hub or put things back together.
