I have a brand new premier 20-in electric range, EAK102OP. The broiler won't stay on ~ it seems to fluctuate on and off repeatedly, and won't just stay on and broil food the way i need it to.

Yes, you can remove the broiler element. Usually they are just plug in after you unseat them If there are wire leads, you must follow them back and remove them from their terminal. If you follow the lead back to the terminal, you may just remove them with a pair of pliers and pull the burner out.

Call the manufacturer and ask them what to do, they can advise you as to what to expect when unit operates and possible cause. Most ranges on broiler will have some heat transfer to top, but this sounds extreme

a wire in the back of your stove is grounded... open rear panel after unplugging and look for burnt wires going to the element. the wires will be a higher grade than most..
most likely there is no problem with the broil element itself, but the problem could possibly be located in the oven switch (if it is not digital)
