Bottom of Touch Screen won't respond

On my 2G Iphone, the bottom portion of the touch screen does not respond. This affects all the APPS on the bottom row, as well as the text keyboard and phone keypad. This just started this morning when I tried entering a telephone number. Everything worked fine yesterday and phone was safely stored in my purse.

SOURCE: my iphone wont respond to my touch in the bottem halk

Have you tried doing a hard shut down? Hold the silver button down on the upper right corner and also the home button (center, bottom indented button) together for about 10 seconds. the phone will completly shut off. then wait about 10 seconds and hold down the upper right hand button until the apple appears on the phone then release the button and wait (20-30seconds) . Doing this usually solves all my issues with my iphone when it gets locked up like this.

The bottom part of my iPhone touchpad is not responding to touch

The touch on the screen works as a seperate component from the screen itself. Either the lower portion is damaged and has to be replaced, or it is wet and can't sence touch as a result. The one may get better in time if the components don't corrode, the other is probably not resolvable...

Unable to unlock my phone

Your device might have a problem in the touch screen.

In iPhone 2G the touch panel and the LCD screen are one unit that cannot be separated.

You shoud try to replace the iPhone screen with a new one and the problem should be fixed.
