Typically you can access the menu, select "tuner" or something similar, make sure you're selected either on CATV or ANT (or similar), then do a channel scan. Should be pretty straightforward. Oh, and make sure you actually HAVE cable. If it's digital cable, you may need an external converter box for it to work.

I cant get digital channels on my element 40 inch element plasma t v why

Perhaps your TV is not compatible with the new digital signals you now get from your provider. But you should be able to get (buy) a digital receiver from your provider, that is can receive all channels and can be connected to the TV with a HDMI cable.

WHY CANT I GET HD CHANNELS ON MY ELEMENT ELECTRONICS 32 IN HD TV

To get HD channels you need to have a cable/satellite box that can receive HD channels AND you have to connect that box to the TV with either an HDMI cable or component jacks. A normal cable/satellite box won't work; neither will a coax antenna cable or consolidated video (yellow RCA) plug. Hope this helps!

Tv setup - cannot get past auto channel

Connect the TV to the Comcast box using an HDMI cable, then set input on the TV to HDMI - that's all. You then select channels on the Comcast box , not the TV (although the TV remote can be programmed to change channels on the cable box)>

I cant turn my tv or set on channel 4

if the box and the TV both have audio/video jacks---hook from the outputs on the box and connect to one on the set---leave set on that input and used box to change channels===most cable remotes can be also programmed to shut the tv on/off and control audio.

Get around the issue and besides you will get a better picture that way.

If you can't figure it out the cable company usually can and will.

My tv's channels are only up to ch 35, and we have cable tv connection. I cant utilize my cable connection cause my tv's only programmed up to 35. do we have a way to program it to go up to more than 35?...

I assume you have analog cable TV service and no cable box. Press MENU button on your TV remote. Go over to CHANNEL SETUP. There are four arrow buttons and a button in the middle of the arrow buttons on the TV remote control. Use these arrow buttons to go up, down, left and right. Use the button in the center to select. TV On-screen menu has Video, then Audio, then Channel Setup.

Cable can be set to ON or OFF, you want to set it ON to get cable channels.
Go down to AUTO PROGRAM and select it, press button in the center of arrow keys.
A short delay while available channels are searched so be patient. After Auto Program finishes, press MENU to exit. You can perform Auto Program whenever required.

You can also add or skip channels manually. You will discover more options in the TVs menus.

you can go to menu options, than find programming options.
Look for an option called "autoprogram" and select it. It will search and set all available channels.

There is universal remotes for this tv that you can find by googling "elements electronics remotes":
