Try to trace back the wire colours to the speakers and use a volt meter to check for earth, power and constant power all you need to do is earth the volt meter to the car then check for power (igniton off) thats the constant power (memory) then with igniton on check for power you might need to cycle the igniton to make sure its ignition power and last but not least switch the volt meter to ohms then check for an earth and your done!

a reputable car stereo place will sell you a wiring harness for your vehicle and after market stereo, that tells you which color wires to hook to what.

1996 piaggio hexagon, battery not receiving charge from engine, indicators and lights go funny with revs, is it the rectifier, the battery was brand new (gel type) fully charged about three weeks ago,...

Find the reg/rect. check the AC voltage going in, should be about 18-26v & 3000RPM. If you have voltage check the out put Red and frame should be above battery voltage. If not turn off engine and check voltage at reg/rect Red wire (+) and Black(-) if fitted could be conected through body to frame..It should be at battery voltage.if not check for burnt or dirty conectors on the red lead and or the black lead if fitted or the mounting bolt for the reg/rect.
If you have battery voltage and AC voltage at the reg/rect suspect the reg/rect. some units have an extra wire that can be an ignition feed that has power on it when the key is on, but sure these dont have it.

If you dont have AC voltage check the (usualy) yellow wire some can have 1 or 2 wires. If it has 2 wire check voltage across both, if it only has one check yellow and the frame.

Reverse lights on my vauxhal corsa v reg are not working

Yes. You can get the MOT station to do the repair or you can try and solve the problem. Check your fuses, the earth connections, your wiring and the voltage at the bulb. It could also be a faulty switch. I hope some of that will help.

Automatically logging onto internet

I'm not sure if you are using GPRS, EDGE, EV-DO, etc....

this is how you do it with GPRS

REG HACK - Turn off GPRS totally (and back to working state) without going to settings

1: You need a Registry editor ( eg. Resco Explorer... there are freeware registry editors too )
2: Find the registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\ConnMgr\Providers\{7C4B7A38-5FF7-4bc1-80F6-5DA7870BB1AA}\Connections\
3: under that , you should see you GPRS settings , for example , mine 's OPTUS GPRS Internet , OPTUS GPRS MMS etc , pick the right one and export it to the *.REG file, and name it to something like " GPRS ON.reg "
4: Modify the setting inside ( for example OPTUS GPRS Internet ) , and change the Enabled value from 1 to 0, then export it to GPRS OFF.reg

use the GPRS ON /OFF .reg to toggle between GPRS always off and on when required.

Happy Registry editing

Stereo wiring

Wire outputs from CD player into inputs of Equalizer, then connect outputs of equalizer to inputs of amp, then output of amp to speakers. Use the best wire possible for all connections, i.e. Monster cables ect.

Please post ratings for all solutions please.
