Message on hp psc 1510 "print cartrdge cradle cannot move"

I've removed the back and there are no paper jams and none in front. Tried re-installing cartridges (left color first, then right b/w) twice. Insured paper guides are in farthest positions. Left 2 sheets of paper in tray. Powered off and on twice.
As the cradle moves left to right and right to left, makes clunking sound. This is a home printer and lightly used. Any suggestions?

SOURCE: HP 7660 "Print Cartridge Cradle is Stuck" Message

I was having same problem but it was a paper jam all the time and then it started to state Cairrage Jam. And what was happening was the unit the cartridges sit in was not going all the way to the right. A little nudge and you could feel it move. Closed lid and sometimes it would print but eventually it would fail. Just replaced but I suspect if you can get to the cairrage you could clean/repair whatever was keeping it from going all the way to the right.

Hope that helps!

SOURCE: will not print / cartridges will not move back and forth

I had this happen to me the other night and I had to restart the printer to get the print job out of the que. You could try that.

While it's restarting, unplug the power cord and the usb cable. That should reset it.

The cartrdge cradle on my HP3820 is jammed. It's been working really good up until now.

Check the following steps for fixing Hp Carriage Jam Error :

Open the print carriage access door. Check for any packing material that may be blocking the internal components. Check for an orange shipping lock that may still be in place on the left side. Pull the shipping lock out, if present, and discard.

Remove and reinstall the cartridges to make sure they are properly installed. Lift the front center of the print carriage access door to open it. Lift the door up until it locks into an open position. Press down on a print cartridge and allow it to spring back up. Lift the cartridge out of the printer. Do the same for the other cartridge. Slide the black cartridge into the slot on the left and the color cartridge into the slot on the right. Press down on each one to lock it into place. Lower the print carriage access door.

Check the print cartridges to make sure the protective tape has been removed from the ink nozzles. Remove the cartridges from the printer. Remove any tape or labels. Replace the cartridges into the printer.

Push in on the tab on the left side of the clean-out door on the back of the printer to open the door. Lift the door out of the printer. Check for any paper jams. Jammed paper can block the printer cartridge carriage from moving. Pull any jammed papaer out.

HP PSC 1500 series print cartidge cradel cannot move?

Does is look/sound like the cradle is attempting to move? Make a loud popping sound? There is small belt that is used to guide cradle across the platen. Take a closer look to see if anything is obstructing that belt. It's rubber and looks like it has gear teeth on it and fits around white gear wheels on side of cradle.

If it doesnt' move at all, a hard reset might clear it. You'll have contact HP support for that as each printer model is different. Some you just hold the power button in for a certain number of seconds.

A soft reset can be tried by unplugging power cord from printer and waiting 15 seconds then reattach power.

Paper feed problems hp PSC 1510

1. Turn the printer off and open the access cover.
2. Look for any obstructions in the paper path and remove them if necessary. (It is possible to move the carrier assembly with the power off.)
3. Turn the printer on, load some paper, and press the Form Feed button.
4. Watch the paper as it feeds through and try to determine where the jam is occurring.
5. Check to see if all the rollers are turning.

If all the rollers are turning, there may be something in the feed path that you can't see. Go to step 6.
If not, there is probably a feed motor or a gear problem and the printer may require service.
6. If the paper is jamming under the carrier assembly, you may be able to fix it using the manual feed slot.
7. Turn the printer off.
8. Take a #10 envelope and feed it through the left side of the manual feed slot until it comes right through the printer to the back of the exit rollers.
9. Move it up and down first, and then slowly move it over to the right side. If something is stuck under the black guide plate, this may work it loose.

Print cradle cannot move error

hi,

this seems to be a hardware problem..... anyway try this...

> unplug the powerchord
> open the rear access door, and check whether there is any paper jammed or any bit of paper or thread stuck inside.... if so remove it
> clean the rollers using a lint free cloth
> close the rear access door
> open the door so that you will get full access to the cartridges...
> move the cartridges to and fro for several times manually with your hand
> close the door
> plug the power chord
> try again to copy multiple pages

thanks and regards

HP 1510 - Photo Paper Jams

Hi, try using HP brand photo paper, HP makes their special photo printers and special photo paper for them.
The surface of the back of the HP's paper is rough, like sandpaper to avoid the paper being jammed in the cheap loading mechanism of their actual printers.
