The message light is continually on my T7208 - but no messages

The CCR tree is probably enabled. Are you using one digit options (press 1 for sales for example)?

On the colleagues phone, press feature #65.

I have a Nortel T7208 phone. It shows "message for you" and the light is on but when I open my vm. I don not have a message how do I get rid of this?

Try FEATURE # 65
There is a Send Message feature on the system, and when you dial Feature #65 this will tell you who sent you this message and press the # button to delete this message.

Does the light flash when there is an incoming call?

this is a code to shut off the Static Time and Date feature on the set. Usually if this feature is turned on, the set does not flash where there is a message.

Well that is one thing, or the port maybe bad, and a technician maybe required to move that phone to a new port on the phone system.

There is this thing on Norstar systems called Reply message... this turns on your voicemail light, but there is on messages when you go into the mailbox.

Try this: FEATURE # 6 5
There might be something on you set that will tell you who sent the message, and you can hit the # or press the OK button to cancel this message!

What extension? If this is set as the receptionist, the general mailbox may be lighting the lite....check the general mailbox.

If you have no messages in your mailbox then someone has accidentally sent you a message from their phone set. You can usaully clear this by using the options in the display to delete all messages or try these feature codes

The Feature button is the gray button that looks like it has a globe on it located under the display.
