SOURCE: central locking on citroen xsara 2003

We have this problem too - can only lock the doors by shutting front doors - climb into the car via the back doors - lock front doors from inside and then manually lock back door. Boot is difficult to lock - takes about 3 or 4 attempts to lock it. Driving me mad!! Have been told it is probably worn or broken wires in the flexi hose in the door hinge. I may have to take it to the garage to get repaired.

SOURCE: car starter not working

look under the dash for a small silver toggle switch....this is a disable switch for the remote start portion of the system..you may have kicked it / bumped it with your foot, causing the remote start portion to be deactivated. Just flip the switch the opposite way and try again..
Also, there may have been a pin style switch installed under the hood...Check to see if it is bent or broken, if it is, simply disconnect it and insulate the wire that was going to it.
This wire is used as a safety to keep the vehicle from remote starting while the hood is up..to keep people from being injured if the remote start is activated while the engine is being worked on.
Have whatever shop installed the system replace your pinswitch if that is the problem.

SOURCE: ford fiesta ghia 1998 model central locking key

This is a common problem after changing the Key Fob battery.

The solution is to remove the fuse feeding the Cental Locking for 10 minute...Replace then all should work fine

no AFTERMARKET CENTRAL LOCK, new or used?and NOT told(makers name and model of it) there are vast types sold and no 2 are the same, ever. (a custom alarm it is) 100%

the alarm box new may have 2 power pins.
one is main 12v (used after it trips)
one is memory (standby power) ( below 50mA)
the 2 pins must be wired correctly, or the battery will drain.
and must be wired in to the car in the correct way,.

What type of alarm is fitted to a 2010 hyundai santa fe and can it be replaced or upgraded

OEM (original equipment ), I.E.- the factory, does imbed a security system in the onboard computer. That does not mean that an aftermarket system was not installed. it is very common to add a better security or security/starter combo into vehicles with factory equipment.
the built in systems are not easy or economical to enhance.

How do I disconnect the alarm and central locking system on my 1991 500SL. I took out the #6 fuse inthe trunk and the power antenna will not work.

if it is a factory alarm system fitted, pulling a fuse will do nothing(the thieves would have it away in no time....)and as there are so many aftermarket alarms available any good system would not be so easy to disarm, try something else.(how do we know you are the owner.......)

Central locking light is flashing when car locked with remote . does not flash when locked from the inside

If this is a aftermarket alarm you have to tag the factory alarm arm wire and dissarm wires.

Keyless entry system installation

The esiest way will be to ad an aftermarket central lock motor to your cars drivers door you can buy these seperatly at most alarm shops for a few dollars ,the idea is that you can hook up your ebay kit directly to this motor and this motor will drive the cars central locking. The aftermarket motor hooks up to the lock button rod in your drivers door. You will see this rod moving when you remove the trim and lock and unlock yhe door via the up/down button/knob.

It means that the remote is not passing the signal to the car . The alarm has triggered because the system has detected an illegal entry. Replace the remote batteries

My battery died after recharging it the alarm buttom needs to be reset. I need to know where the reset buttom is

HI ! I haven' t researched your car for you just yet !

I thought Id quickly mention the common method for reprogramming your alarm & remote, If you still require assistance then just ask me and I will find more about your car :)

Common Methods for resetting/re-learning code

  • Factory Fitted Alarms/ Central Locking / remote comes on ignition key.

Insert ignition key , turn key to accessories / red , press & hold lock/unlock for a few secs.remove key, exit vehicle and try un/lock doors &/or alarm (Some models differ slightly & require engine on or manual use of door locks whilst resetting.

  • Aftermarket /Non-Factory / remote is separately operated
Most use a small back-up battery usually located within the loudspeaker/Alarm unit itself under the bonnet,
Remove this battery for a short period to reset the remote code

The access panel for the backup battery is never in an obvious place. look carefully :)
